Whether one thinks that Hillary deserves to be called a flawed person or not, she is undeniably a flawed candidate. How many of the Dem candidates you list would only have been ahead of Trump by an average of 6.2%

Good question, but possibly none. According to Nate Silver, "...contemporary presidential elections are bound to be relatively close because both parties have high floors on their support. Indeed, we’ve gone seven straight elections without a double-digit popular vote victory (the last one was Ronald Reagan’s in 1984), the longest such streak since 1876-1900."

It's Trump, but don't forget he was in fairly decent shape before the convention. Sure, he was pandering to the red meat-eaters and droolers, but everybody expected him to do something different for the general election. Instead, he just kept getting worse. So as of both conventions, I think the numbers would have been fairly close no matter which Dem was running. And after, they started to diverge fairly quickly with Hillary pulling substantially ahead. So would generic Dems Kerry, Gore, et. al. pull away quicker? Maybe, but considering how unpopular she is, Hillary is so far taking Trump to the shed pretty handily. And most polls showed none of the others in the clown car would beat her, either, except for Kasich, who was never going to get nominated by the loons.

Hillary has the most directly applicable professional experience of most any other Presidential candidate, ever. And in all those jobs, she has done a competent job.
Building relationships and bridges. Hillary understands that.
Will try to overturn Citizens United and increase transparency in campaign funding.
Corrupt but competent, not slimy and shoddy.
Good DNC speaker lineup.
Fluent in Spanish VP pick.
Long time children's advocate.
Most progressive Dem Platform ever.
The Supreme Court!!!
Would be our 1st female Head of State, thus catching us up with several Muslim nations.
Mythological.
Better option for having access to all US nuclear weapons.
Looked great for her DNC speech, better than 1960 Nixon.
Doesn't look good on the honesty front except when you stand her next to ANYONE in the 2016 or 2012 Republican clown cars. And probably a few election cycles before that.
Crusader for the downtrodden.
Spent a long time advocating for women's rights, access to healthcare and more.... a successful woman ... she's set a good example in that regard.
A highly successful person who is capable of being President of the United States ... setting an example for anyone who cares to about it that hard work and persistence toward a goal can sometimes pay off - even against big odds.
Heroic.
She's the "family values" candidate. Never divorced, no affairs, didn't walk away from her marriage when her husband had an affair, no accusations of rape or sexual harassment.
Like "the hated New England (Patriots)" or like the mediocre Buffalo Bills, both of which are better than the Cleveland Browns.

Hillary's opponents - even among Democrats - like to claim that she voted for Bush II's invasion and occupation.

She didn't. She voted to authorize military force after Bush II made an appeal that getting the vote would be a strong piece of leverage in order to finish the UN inspections.

But then Bush II went back on his word, didn't give the inspectors enough time, and invaded. And of course, Bush II and friends were outright lying about the evidence for WMDs.

Even if Hillary expected military force was inevitable, that could mean Tomahawk strikes or special forces raids on the WMD locations - or anywhere else that would hurt Saddam. It doesn't reasonably mean a full invasion and decade-long occupation of the entire country.

Most congressional Dems knew better, 147 - 111, and it was arguably the worst US resolution of the 21st Century. I think it's a better strategy to say she was wrong, as she has, than to try and make the case that she wasn't wrong.

How long? There's no time interval involved.

To Republicans, female Democrats exist in a quantum state. Unnatural, unintuitive and and inexplicable by classical physics. Simultaneously both naïve and incompetent, yet cold and calculating. Inexperienced, yet Washington insiders. Elected "only because she's a woman", yet unqualified because she's a woman. Anti-marriage if she leaves a cheating husband, but "approving" the cheating if she stays with him. (Someone here made that claim not long ago.)
