Maybe that's why "corn dog" is an insult.
What do Auburn people smell like, billy.p?
Scorched corn dogs this week.
Apparently, losing to Auburn these days gets a coach fired.![]()

Actually Auburn fans and lsu fans get along better than most. Our tail gate has about a third opposition fans at the lsu and the South Carolina games. The lsu fans bring the best food.
I apologize to all lsu fans for jumping to a wrong conclusion about the tree.
The corn dog thing is good natured and doesn't seem to be a problem with their fans.

Sounds like her (ex?) boyfriend, Brendan McGowan, did nothing.

It still seems to me like the whole problem lies in . . . rolling YOUR OWN trees. It's the veriest of wonders that no one thought of setting all that shit paper alight before this idiot.

It does ring a little strange, but is kinda pretty like a heavy snowfall.

It was started after Terry Henley trashed talked to the press before an Auburn/bammer game. The rolling elephants were #2 and Terry told the press that we were going to knock the #2 out of bama. This was way back in the 70's when we couldn't say bad words.

I remember something along those lines (if you really remember the 70s, you weren't doing it right). It just seems right up there with waving all those white towels in the stands- the height of counter-intuition.billy.pilgrim wrote:Boatrocker wrote:It still seems to me like the whole problem lies in . . . rolling YOUR OWN trees. It has nothing to do with my memory, or with the constant flashbacks. I have learned to live with both.
Terry is a family friend and the story comes up too often.
Just realied that I left out the end of the story.
Anyway, we won and since y'all refused to ever play us at Auburn, the game was played in Birmingham. After the game students started congregating at the campus Toomers Corner entrance. It likely didn’t take bUT one drunken mention of #2 before someone went home for toilet paper.
A tradition is born

I think it looks kinda cool, though it probably looks like a popular campground without a toilet after the first rain.

That said, he must be a good coach.

Fwiw, Boise State's blue turf predated Chris Petersen's head coaching tenure by 19 years. Also, I like weird stuff. Resist the green hegemony!

Yeah, I knew Peterson didn't put in the blue field, but he was pretty successful on it. You know how superstitious sports people are.

I'm sure the blue uniforms on the same color blue field didn't cause any problems for the opposing team

So it's "rah-rah for Carolina, rah-rah for Carolina..."
The football Heels of tradition who have broken so many hearts over the years could not have possibly have pulled off today's win. And to win close twice (already) in the same season is incredible! Somebody must have switched the uniforms or something.
But didn't Osceola look magnificent before the game?

Several other wild finishes, with TN over GA being especially crazy. I did beat the spread by 0.5 by picking GA.

Enjoy it while you can. They've got a baaaaad stretch coming up with Michigan, M State, Buckeyes, Nebraska. Not exactly like the old days playing Wake Forest and a toothless Dook, is it?Vrede too wrote:![]()
