I'm hesitant to go the iPhone route, although I'm sure they'll eventually pull me in too.

Yeah, once you get in ... you're hooked. Seriously, it is the best mobile platform I've seen.gongoozler wrote:I'm hesitant to go the iPhone route, although I'm sure they'll eventually pull me in too.
Still, I can understand your reticence and that is why I, along with AntiAlias (and you, as well, I think), would like to see a real competitor to iOS.

So far it's not Windows, even though I was tempted by it.mike wrote:Yeah, once you get in ... you're hooked. Seriously, it is the best mobile platform I've seen.gongoozler wrote:I'm hesitant to go the iPhone route, although I'm sure they'll eventually pull me in too.

Yeah, I thought Android would be it. I love the extensibility and extra customization but that carries a cost in reliability.
I've always jail-broken my iPhone and installed Cydia.
Still waiting for the iOS6 jailbreak.
It's out there but not quite stable enough for me to take a stab at - last I read it's still a tethered jail-break.

The appeal to me for the Android platform, is the extensive armature development community.mike wrote:Yeah, I thought Android would be it. I love the extensibility and extra customization but that carries a cost in reliability.

As far as I know, neither iOS nor Windows offers such a community.

Well, nothing official but Chronic Dev, the the Dev Team and Jay Freeman (the creator of Cydia) offer a lot of extensibility to the iOS platform ... too bad it's only relegated to us geeky iOS users.AntiAlias wrote:As far as I know, neither iOS nor Windows offers such a community.

Apple products may not be perfect but Microsoft will not get another one of my dimes if I can help it.

I've got one that plugs into my house.
You aren't doing it wrong if no one knows what you are doing.

Mine has a retractable antenna. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
