2016 Elections

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

:violent:

The meme of Hillary and the rapist defense story is not entirely true, although she did defend a rapist accused of assaulting a 12 year old girl.

Donald calls anybody anything, no big deal.

One could have lost her license if she had not used all available defenses on behalf of her client;
"once" called a "girl" fat?

I do love seeing how the conservative ummmm, "mind" works, though. Like a tilted pinball machine with square balls.

North Carolina: Trump vs. Clinton vs. Johnson - Trump +0.8%

Clinton could put away Trump by carrying North Carolina

Crap, I'm gonna have to vote for Hillary, aren't I? We'll see, I'll keep hoping that she becomes less Hillary and he becomes more Trump, and that the polls reflect it.

I glad you see something, I'm at a total loss about any sort of rational thought process. This trump thing has just laid out all the crazies - that is until the ones who once looked reasonable jumped in with them.

People support Trump for the same reason people burn down their own neighborhood and trash their own grocery store in a riot. Thought process is the same.

"Thought process," indeed.
People are crazy and times are strange. I'm locked in tight, I'm out of range.
I used to care, but, things have changed.

I randomly decided I'd check 538 for election predictions.....

Was really pleasantly surprised to see Trump's chances of winning at a current 25.1% -- still too high of course.

Also:
FiveThirtyEight: Who will win the Senate?

Chance of winning control
Democrats 63.4%
Republicans 36.6%
Quite different from the HuffPo odds that I linked above, not sure why.

I tend not to trust HuffPo -- I feel they're pretty biased usually. They also have horrible science reporting. (No empirical evidence of such, just my opinion.)

Oh, HuffPo is definitely biased in articles and editorial position. Remember they were the ones that were going to report Trump's doings only in the entertainment section and who still attach the following disclaimer to any Trump article:
"Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S."

But that doesn't mean the statisticians they hired to do the projections were told to provide a specific finding, or were subject to editorial correction. If you read what they did, it's pretty thorough. However, I hope they're off on the Senate, and I think there are still too many variables in the Senate races to project to the election.

In the official GOP website's defense, they've also declared Donald Trump the best possible choice to command the country. This after doing the same for Dubya, and declaring Sarah Palin the ideal choice to take command if something happened to McCain.

Declaring Pence the winner and listing his top moments *before* the debate, is actually one of their more credible claims.

Come to think of it, they're like a disturbed classmate who keeps insisting that you sign a suicide pact.
