What if we're really all characters in a really absurd TV show? One where Donald Trump is president?
Ted Cruz May Be Trump’s Attorney General
President-elect Donald Trump is considering former Republican rival and Texas Senator Ted Cruz for the position of U.S. attorney general, according to a new report.
Bloomberg cited a person familiar with the matter saying that Cruz is in the running for the job, which was initially discussed as a potential position for former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Giuliani, however, is now reportedly being considered for secretary of state....

That image could just as accurately be labelled "I can't get a job because Obama is a racist." Lord knows Mr.B's crowd declared Obama racist often enough.
Get over it, Naziboy. You may have won the election, but WE won the war.
Yep, Nazi worshiping, poor, poor oppressed perpetual victim white males. For white nationalists, Trump win a dream come true, says alt-right leader from Dallas
... Spencer, a 38-year-old Dallas native and graduate of St. Mark's School of Texas prep school, is a key intellectual leader of the alternative right, a label he coined in 2008 to describe the radical conservative movement defined by white nationalism and a fervent resistance to multiculturalism and globalism.
In his mind, Trump "is the first step, the first stage towards identity politics for white people."
... He envisions a white ethno-state utopia, devoid of black people, Muslims, Jews, Asians or anyone else without a common European heritage and culture.
... he was influenced by the writings of Friedrich Nietzsche and Jared Taylor, a founding figure in the American white nationalist movement and editor of American Renaissance....

White males are far from oppressed. I don't believe they're oppressed at all, especially in our country. But the past few years it seems to have become very trendy to speak of white males as some monolithic entity responsible for all of the evil in the world.Vrede too wrote:poor, poor oppressed perpetual victim white males.

I was being sarcastic.

Who says that?
Do you see the potential problems with this mindset?
Less so than the mindset that we're not born with an enormous advantage, that we don't have a responsibility to both acknowledge this and do all that we can to rectify it, and that all the whining from Mr.B and the Trumpettes is justified.

What I said.rstrong wrote: And why expect things to change after Obama?"
Mr.B wrote:"I don't expect things to change under Trump's "leadership". I don't know, but my gut tells me there will be a "change" in the not-too-distant future, and it won't be the "change" that Trump envisions."

There's that. We'd looked at Turks and Caicos. Easy to get residency, low cost of living. But living there is undoubtedly different from the times we've stayed there before. Might just move into the Winter Residence fulltime. Summer in Cape Breton, or Ottawa, or maybe Vancouver; winter in SW Florida (which is Canada in the winter).
