just sit back and banter back and forth on the keyboard with the whiners and the one who's looking in from the other side of the window and fuming over what he sees... It's a helluva lot more fun...and cheaper too.

A close latina friend of mine of the Cuban variety calls me a mick all the time and says I probably wear polo shirts and shop at target , but jokes on her shes the one that's gonna be deported to back to Mexico not me.Vrede too wrote:JTA wrote:White males are far from oppressed. I was being sarcastic.
But the past few years it seems to have become very trendy to speak of white males as some monolithic entity responsible for all of the evil in the world.
Who says that?
Do you see the potential problems with this mindset?
Less so than the mindset that we're not born with an enormous advantage, that we don't have a responsibility to both acknowledge this and do all that we can to rectify it, and that all the whining from Mr.B and the Trumpettes is justified.

I like WNC generally, and I like my immediate surroundings. And I make a real effort not to get too wrapped up in stuff I have no control over. I wouldn't really move somewhere just as a political protest, but there are a lot of nice places in the world, and I've been to/lived in a lot of nice places, so it's tempting to want to live in a state/country with not so many rightwingers. Or at least where there's something on the news that isn't about the latest infringement on rational thought.Mr.B wrote:Do like I did ..... long ago. Come to think of it, the white people I have a problem with are the ones that wear scarves when it's 60 degrees out and shop at target.
I guess Polo shirts and target ain't that bad though. But those scarves.

In all honesty shopping at target isn't that big of a deal, it's you wearing ugs and scarves and sipping on Starbucks and listening to Katy Perry and Justin Bieber and dying your hair dirty blonde that's the problem.O Really wrote:I guess I'm totally un-cool, but I like Target. What am I missing?

I'd much prefer to see that over someone vying for a "People of Walmart" spot.JTA wrote:"In all honesty shopping at target isn't that big of a deal, it's you wearing ugs and scarves and sipping on Starbucks and listening to Katy Perry and Justin Bieber and dying your hair dirty blonde that's the problem."O Really wrote:I guess I'm totally un-cool, but I like Target. It was an American talent scout that "discovered" him, working for an American studio that turned him into a star. The Canadian people have apologized repeatedly for Bryan Adams, but Justin Bieber is your doing.

Re: Trump
Have you noticed any non-red herrings in Trump's picks yet, and does he seem the type to intentionally suffer humiliating losses in order to win in the long run?
