I hope Stein's able to do that despite there being zero chance that she will win.

Re: 2016 Elections
Techdirt has more accurate write-up:
Alex Halderman Clarifies: Not Sure If Election Was Hacked, But, Uh, Shouldn't Someone Be Checking To Make Sure?
Halderman is basically the expert on e-voting security -- so when he says something, it's worth paying attention.
Halderman has now posted something of a follow-up to the NY Magazine article clarifying his views and what he's suggesting. He's not saying there's evidence of a hack, but basically saying that no one knows if there was a hack or not, and because of that, there should be a recount as a way to audit the results to see if there were any irregularities.
[...]
There’s just one problem, and it might come as a surprise even to many security experts: no state is planning to actually check the paper in a way that would reliably detect that the computer-based outcome was wrong.

Re: 2016 Elections
Another way to put it is that academics, lawyers and data experts are curious why Hillary Clinton performed worse in counties that relied on electronic voting machines compared to paper ballots and optical scanners.
BTW, in 2000 Al Gore led George W Bush in the popular vote by 544,000. Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump in the popular vote by two million. Somehow I don't think that America's gerrymandering problem will be fixed this term.

Techdirt: In His Final Days, Obama Quietly Expands War Powers Before Handing Them Off To Trump
America.... WTF?Council on Foreign Relations senior fellow Micah Zenko didn’t mince words in the Times when describing what the Obama administration is doing: “It’s crazy,” he said of the administration’s redefining the law out of existence. “This administration leaves the Trump administration with tremendously expanded capabilities and authorities.”
Make no mistake: Trump will have a free hand to use the law meant for the perpetrators of 9/11 to wage war around the world, fashioning it to different enemies at his command, and he will be able to point to precedent set by the Obama administration as he does it.

Good list of how much damage a radical rightwing "Christian" can do:
Stop Calling Mike Pence Boring. Here's His Track Record on Gays, Women, Immigrants, and the Planet.
Bland on the outside. Terrifying on the inside.
One example from it:
Little Indiana town paid for war on Planned Parenthood
Pence almost single-handedly caused an HIV outbreak in his state by slashing funding for reproductive health.
