I never really understood the animosity toward Biden. He's a decent, regular sort of guy with a good personal story. Sure, he runs off at the mouth sometimes, but so what? Maybe for whatever reason you wouldn't want him to be President, but I don't see how he's such a despicable guy. I figure it's just more of the "hate everything Obama has done, seen, looked at, associated with, said, thought, or talked to."

He insisted - insisted - that the kid was wrong in his spelling, and thus made a national joke of himself. Had he just let it go as a matter of common courtesy (the kid's spelling, which was correct) instead of being an asshole, he probably wouldn't have become a laughingstock. Gore, Mondale, Rockefeller, as well as Ford and Bush the Original were all pretty decent and capable people IMNVHO.

Gore was probably one of the most intelligent, yet he was ridiculed for his environmentalist "tree-hugger" views.
