Trump's anti-education Education Secretary owes millions in election fraud fines

In 2006, All Children Matter, DeVos's anti-education PAC asked the Ohio Elections Commission whether it could transfer unlimited funds to its Ohio subsidiary, and were firmly told that the most they could transfer was $10,000 -- a ruling DeVos ignored, transfering $870,000 to the Ohio affiliate. This resulted in the bipartisan commission fining DeVos $5.2m, a ruling upheld by an Ohio court.

DeVos ducked out of the fines by shutting down the Ohio subsidiary and claiming that neither she nor her PAC were liable for its debts, including the whopping $5.2M fine.

Now, Senators Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Tom Udall (D-N.M.), Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), and Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) have published an open letter to DeVos, demanding that she settle her fines before taking office.

Despite campaign promises to "drain the swamp," Donald Trump has slotted his cabinet with a cast of corporate cronies. This is the most extremist and unqualified slate of cabinet picks imaginable.

Tell your senators to keep federal agencies in competent hands.

In the past few weeks, we watched with horror as Trump picked nominees without any relevant experience, some of whom are openly hostile to the mission of their very agencies. This list includes:

A Labor Secretary who has promoted low wages, automating workers, and the objectification of women (1)
A Housing and Urban Development Secretary with no relevant experience
A Commerce Secretary who owned a dangerous coal mine where twelve miners died in an explosion (2)
A Secretary of State who ran ExxonMobil
An EPA Administrator who has sued the agency on behalf of fossil fuel companies (3)
An Energy Secretary who wants to get rid of the department (and might not know what it does) (4)
A Health and Human Services Secretary who has attacked policies that protect women's health (5)
An Interior Secretary who has a League of Conservation Voters score of 3% (6)
And an Attorney General who opposes civil and voting rights and was denied a federal judgeship due to racist remarks (7)

Trump's cabinet of horrors is spiraling out of control. These nominees are dangerous and we can't allow them to be confirmed. Tell your senators that there is no place for hate or greed in the administration.

Trump's cabinet picks make one thing very clear. He wants to protect Wall Street and corporate interests -- not hardworking Americans or the environment.

... If enough people speak out, we might be able to sway a few principled Republican senators to block many of Trump's picks.

Look, this banter has been fun, but Trump nor Hillary were, nor still are, ideal choices for POTUS; both are spoiled, wealthy, imbeciles. Given the choice of the two, I voted for who I felt was the least of the two evils. I may be sorry later on, but at least we MAY see some real change as was promised in the 2008 election. Personally, I am burned out on politics, but I couldn't see my vote going to someone who champions the murder of an unborn child; among a few other choice items.

Trump's senior communications advisor Jason Miller has stepped down "to spend more time with family" after his sex scandal went public.

Miller was Ted Cruz's senior communications advisor and was in the habit of referring to Trump as #SleazyDonald before he started working for Trump in June. He was communications advisor for Rudy Giuliani's campaign in 2008.
