Whether any part of the stories happened or not, Trump and Putin would still say nyet. So a deny-deny-deny response is of itself pretty suspicious. Particularly when he offers as a defense "I wouldn't let anybody pee on me because I'm a germophobe." Any rational person would, in that circumstance, say something like, (1) I don't know where this came from, but we're certainly going to get to the bottom of it; (2) I'm setting up a special investigation committee; (3) those responsible will be caught and prosecuted. Getting Putin to vouch for you isn't a good idea. And he may call it "false", but it's not "ridiculous" for somebody who wanders through beauty contest dressing rooms and grabs women by the pussy.
