I hate to say they are getting what they deserve, but what did they expect from Mitt?
Aides taking cabs home late that night got rude awakenings when they found the credit cards linked to the campaign no longer worked.

Yes I would have done differently. If I had staffers that have stuck with me the whole time I'll continue to at least pay their fare back to wherever they need to go, that's just common decency. If Obama done the same, I'd still view it as negative.Guest wrote:Would you have done any differently? Do you believe that Obama's campaign would have done any differently?
What you fail to notice is that "his campaign" cancelled the cards; it doesn't say that he personally had a hand in it; therefore Obama's campaign could have or did the same; it just wasn't made a big deal because Obama won. The liberal media, and your post, is simply attempting to portray Romney as a poor loser. Notice the link you posted is very skimpy. Fail.
Why don't you go find the story about the Obama campaign cancelling the staffers credit cards? The Obama campaign is also over.Guest wrote:Would you have done any differently? Do you believe that Obama's campaign would have done any differently?

Did the staffers' magic underwear stop working too?Mitt Romney cancels staffers credit cards.
So what part of "Obama's campaign could have or did the same; it just wasn't made a big deal because Obama won" did you overlook?neoplacebo wrote:Why don't you go find the story about the Obama campaign cancelling the staffers credit cards? The Obama campaign is also over.
That's what I'm saying. That's also why I blame the CC companies, and the article was written to scorn the Republican campaign.O Really wrote:I don't know the whole story, but I do know just because they lost does not mean the campaign organization is dissolved and no other bills will be paid. The organization will continue to exist until it is formally dissolved some time in the future when loose ends are all tied up. No, it probably wasn't Romney himself, but it would have taken an active order to cancel them. So the crappy thing was the timing - i.e., even before the staff got home. Day after...for staffers out of a job - not so bad.
I didn't overlook anything. What part of the evident fact that the Obama staffers cards are not cancelled do you not understand? The fact that you say "...they could have or did the same; it just wasn't made a big deal because Obama won" is the same sort of unsubstantiated swill made famous by GOP acolytes. The fact that you assume the Obama campaign would do the same thing and it not be reported is just stupid. And, by the way, I voted for him. too.Guest wrote:So what part of "Obama's campaign could have or did the same; it just wasn't made a big deal because Obama won" did you overlook?neoplacebo wrote:Why don't you go find the story about the Obama campaign cancelling the staffers credit cards? I'll make a deal with you. You find and post the link where the Obama campaign didn't cancel their staffer's cards,
and I'll locate and post the link where they did.
I'm under the impression that the cards were possibly cancelled by the credit card company(s); under orders to do so by the Romney campaign, and that the CC company(s), feared that unauthorized charges that would be contested, would leave them hanging with unpaid bills, and they cancelled them as soon as they found that Romney had been defeated.
I'm not defending Romney nor his campaign's tactics; I am very familiar with credit card companies and their tactics.
And oh, BTW, I voted for Obama.
That's why I said the liberal media reported the cancellation to make Romney appear as a sore loser.neoplacebo wrote:The fact that you assume the Obama campaign would do the same thing and it not be reported is just stupid. And, by the way, I voted for him. too.
No, you still miss the point. There's no story about the Obama campaign cancelling staffers credit cards because evidently that didn't happen. What makes you think it did and wasn't reported? I imagine myself running a polititcal campaign for my candidate. At the end of the campaign, I would probably send out a letter to all card holders in the campaign stating that they are to turn in their cards to me or my designate on such and such a day. I might not send this letter to two or three staffers but would send it to 98% of them. I certainly wouldn't cancel them without prior notice, nor would I lash my dog to the top of my car to go on vacation. This "sore loser" tack isn't relevant; what's relevant is that the cards were cancelled without notice; a rather arrogant and arbitrary act. And why is the thread titile a lie? Because you don't believe it? Wrong! It was Romney's campaign; he was in charge of it. He takes the blame and gets the glory as well.Guest wrote:That's why I said the liberal media reported the cancellation to make Romney appear as a sore loser.neoplacebo wrote:The fact that you assume the Obama campaign would do the same thing and it not be reported is just stupid. Why write a story about CC cancellations on the "poor winners" side? No fuel there to create the fires of sneer;
and Banni's thread title is a lie.
Yes, Banni, AWESOME, indeed!bannination wrote:Meanwhile: Here's an amazing speech Obama gave to his staffers....
