... The Post started looking into Bannon because while he claimed residency in Florida, he was spending most of his time in Washington, D.C., but his address was listed as his business manager's office in California.

In fact, prosecutors in Miami have opened an investigation into Bannon's claims to be a Florida resident from 2014-2016. Because although Bannon signed a lease on a Florida home for that period of time, Bannon's ex-wife, Diane, was the one residing there and neighbors told the Post they have never seen Bannon near the house.

The theory is that Bannon claimed to live in Florida because the state does not have an income tax, therefore allowing him to avoid paying taxes on his earnings by claiming to reside there....

Ivanka Trump Is Exception to Dad's 'Buy American' Rule

In his January inauguration speech, US President Donald Trump made a seemingly straightforward pledge: "We will follow two simple rules: buy American and hire American."

His daughter is the exception: even as he spoke, at least eight shipments of Ivanka Trump-branded shoes, bags and clothes — more than 59 tons — were steaming towards American ports from China, according to US Customs bills of lading examined by AFP.

Trump uses his presidential pulpit to censure manufacturers — both domestic and foreign — for using overseas labor to make goods for American consumers, but the Ivanka-branded orders have kept rolling in.

More than two tons of ladies' polyester woven blouses, 1,600 cowhide leather wallets and 25 tons of made-in-China footwear were among at least 82 such shipments that passed US Customs — almost one per business day — from Trump's November 8 election win through February 26, records showed....

More than 1,200 shipments of Trump-branded products have flowed into the US from China and Hong Kong over the past decade ...

... at the same time he frequently accused China of stealing US jobs through unfair trade practices and currency manipulation, while also slamming US firms such as Ford and Nabisco for off-shoring.

... the president has been notably silent on his daughter's products ...

Christopher Balding, an expert on Sino-US trade relations at Peking University, called it "very hypocritical to make (bringing jobs back to the US) a policy plank and manufacture her products in China."

... a long-time garment industry executive who spoke on condition of anonymity told AFP simple products like polyester dresses could "definitely" be made in the US at a similar price once savings from transportation and tariffs are factored in....

Late last month, Ivanka sat in on a White House meeting where her father discussed "tough policies" to bring "our jobs back."

"Everything is going to be based on bringing our jobs back," the president said, as he addressed a group of manufacturing moguls from a dozen American firms....

Just not yet: two days later, more than 5,000 Ivanka Trump polyester blouses arrived in Newark, New Jersey.

And at least one shoe factory in southern China has received an order for 10,000 shoes for next season, according to Chinese newspaper the Global Times.

YES! But winter storms are SO COLD! We are President, we shouldn't have to suffer just because of some stupid WINTER STORM!
OFF TO THE SOUTHERN WHITE HOUSE IT IS! We also call it Winter White House, because that's also a very PRESIDENTED name!
Maybe we can just wait there until the Winter Storm is over! And shoot some golf balls while we're there!
Next year this Winter Storm problem will probably NOT be an issue. This year it was only because of OBAMA!
He is responsible for the Yemen raid, for the Russian thing with that Sessions guy, and for the STUPID winter storm!
The question is: how could he have done that many things simultaneously while he was HIDING in our MICROWAVE OVEN?
We'll have to ask that CONWAY lady sometime. Maybe when she pops by to sit on our COUCH. Reminder: GET SANITIZER!
We are TOTALLY germaphobic, that's why. People disgust us. Except for the REAL American people. We LOVE those.

Remember, it's the MSM forecasting the "blizzard" ... its FAKE NEWS! Break out the sun tan lotion!

Scarborough: Trump leaked his own tax returns as distraction

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough is accusing President Trump of leaking his own 2005 tax returns in an effort to "distract from Russia hearings and the Trumpcare meltdown."

“This one tax return is not bad for him because he cherry picked one return from over a decade ago and had it leaked to the press,” Scarborough tweeted Wednesday morning.

“The Trump camp released one positive tax return to distract from Russia hearings and the Trumpcare meltdown. That's painfully obvious.”
Don't know if he's correct, but it is a reasonable theory. Why would someone with access to the returns limit her/himself to 2 pages from a single remote year?

The white house reaction was so incredibly fast too, they released the numbers before the media could. Amazing how the audit excuse went out the window in a hurry.

It does feel staged, but I don't want to get all conspiracy.

Indeed. It seems to me that all the supporting documentation- schedules, worksheets, etc- would be where all the good stuff is. I can't help but wonder if Maddow and/or NBC took the bait and fell for an Al Capone's Vault gag.

"Does anybody really believe that a reporter, who nobody ever heard of, 'went to his mailbox,' and found my tax returns?"
- Trump tweet re Pulitzer-winning NYT reporter David Cay Johnston, who received and released two pages of Trump's 2005 tax return

"Donald's had my home phone number for years. He's called me at home in the past."

Meals on wheels used to help out my 90 something year old WWII vet neighbor.

He should've pulled himself up by the bootstraps and got a job.

Jalopnik: Trump's Plan To Save The Auto Industry Is To Dropkick The EPA Into The Trash
But today Trump will be giving his proposed budget to Congress and the aims are a bit more direct: cut the EPA’s funding by a third and “eliminate” 19 percent of its workforce, as Reuters reports. That’s 3,200 EPA hardworking Americans who’d be eliminated.

This is bad news for cars and gearheads, as it’s the EPA and its standards that have actually helped make cars better and more powerful over the years.
I'm sure that VW - paying $Billions for violating EPA standards - will have a good laugh over the timing.

Newspeak:
Cuts to poverty programs are ‘as compassionate as you can get,’ Trump budget chief says

... ‘Look, we’re not going to ask you for your hard-earned money any more.’ ‘Single mom of two in Detroit, OK, give us your money.’ We’re not going to do that anymore … unless we can guarantee to you that that money is actually being used in a proper function, and I think that is about as compassionate as you can get.”

Under the current tax plan, a single parent pays a 10 percent federal tax rate, or $1,255 on a $34,000 annual income, after applying the exceptions available. Under Trump’s proposed plan, the rate would increase to 12 percent, and with the reduction of various exceptions, the same single parent would be paying $2,280....

I've just about reached the point where I say, "Fuck it." Let them shut down all the shit he/they said he/they would. Let all the red state fucktards who voted for him anyway bleed from the eyes by the time it's over. It will impact a shitload of old people and children but, since it seems unavoidable, we might as well roll with the punch and let it happen, let the dumbshits suffer their own folly. Let them rely on their churches and local charities to "fill the gap" (also know as shitting in one hand and wishing in the other and noting which one gets filled first). Let the stupidass whitetrash really come to grips with the fact that it ain't just "niggers and messicans" benefitting from these programs. Let the rednecks try and fish in waterways full of fly ash and bottom ash that Duke Fucking Energy dumped legally. Let them deal with well water full of lead and mercury and phosphorus and god-knows-what-else. Maybe that will provide the intellectual nudge needed to get them to understand the concept of voting against everyone's best interest, and being careful what you wish for. If that doesn't work, well, we're all fucked, anyway.
