Man, it's messed up when you really think about how non-nonchalant people are about killing others. We haven't experienced anything remotely close to war here on US soil for a few generations so I think it's easy to forget how shitty things can be, and how terrible death on a mass scale is. People throw around the idea of nuking everything and "glassing" the middle east but jesus-fuck, that's a lot of death.billy.pilgrim wrote:well the idiots have all scraped off their

bumper stickers. I really never understood the support for spending millions on the air show events and especially the bumper stickers slogan since they were never grounded (there was the threat when the repugs did their 10% spending cuts, but the navy worked that out. There was an attempt to rein in the expense during the bush administration. They limited the number of shows in one place to one, but the Navay fixed that by calling the Friday show a "dress rehearsal"
anyway, the new bumper sticker popping up all over the Santa Rosa county (and Hurlbert Field area) is:
NUKE 'EM
TILL THEY GLOW
SHOOT 'EM
IN THE DARK
I'm not 100% on the meaning, but their other bumper sticker says, Trump
I remember getting into an argument with some relatives that just couldn't wrap their head around why we didn't just lob a few nukes at North Korea to stop them from stirring up trouble, or why we didn't just outright carpet bomb Iraq a la WWII into nothingness. According to them, our "candy-ass" sissy president was preventing us from doing it.
People have a cartoonish perspective on war.
