Don't attack their faults, those are already understood; attack their strengths to bring them down.

Subject: Thank Your House Lawmakers for Opposing HB 746, the Permitless
Carry Bill
From: "NCGV" <ncgv@ncgv.org>
Date: Mon, June 12, 2017 4:52 am
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
While HB 746, the permitless carry bill, passed the state house on
Wednesday it was a tigh vote: 65 to 54. All Democrats and 8 Republican
voted against the bill. These courageous lawmakers put children and
safety above special interest politics and also ensured that the bill did
not pass with a veto-proof majority. .
Thank you for all of your calls and emails into key lawmakers. Your
outreach ensured that HB 746 did not include elimination of the pistol
purchase permitting system and allowing campus carry.
During the debate Rep. John Faircloth (R-Guildford), a retired police
chief, pointed out that the legislation would allow anyone, including
those as young as 18 years old to fill a backpack with as many guns as it
can hold. He explained how gangs would use young adults to carry a cache
of weapons and law enforcement would have no statute to protect the
public.
Also of note, the NC Sheriffs Association, Chiefs of Police Association,
and Fraternal Order of Police also expressed opposition about the
legislation, noting their strong support for the concealed carry weapons
permitting system.
The bill now moves to the Senate where it’s future is uncertain. But
first, it’s important that we take time to express our appreciation to
supporters in the House.
Please call these lawmakers to thank them for being brave by putting
communities above special interest groups. Here is a sample message: “I
am calling to thank the representative for standing up for the safety of
North Carolinians by voting against HB 746, the Permitless Gun Carry
Bill.”
Rep. John Faircloth - 919-733-5877
Rep. John Fraley – 919-733-5741
Rep. Ted Davis Jr. - 919-733-5786
Rep. D. Craig Horn - 919-733-2406
Rep. Frank Iler - 919-301-1450
Rep. Chuck McGrady - 919-733-5956
Rep. Sam Watford – 919-715-2526
Rep. Linda Hun Williams - 919-733-2962
Rep. Brian Turner - 919-715-3012
Rep. Michael Wray - 919-733-5662

Admittedly, it's a bit sad when our victories are exclusively stopping really stupid bills.
Great news! We did it. The N.C. legislature has adjourned for now and they did not pass the permitless carry bill, HB 746. It was because you called, emailed, wrote letters, and visited the General Assembly that this victory was possible. Thank you.
Because of you,18 year olds will not be allowed to carry a hidden loaded weapon in public and all who wish to carry a concealed weapon will have to go through 8 hours of classroom training and live fire training. I don’t know about you but that makes me feel much safer walking around in public.
We also stopped campus carry and the elimination of our background check system on private handgun sales (pistol purchase permitting system). You spoke and the General Assembly listened.
Thank you again,
Becky
PS – Stay tuned for future updates and action because legislators will be coming back to the General Assembly on August 3rd and September 6th. These are for special sessions. We will be there every step of the way fighting to keep North Carolinians safe from gun violence.

If only those concertgoers had been armed they could have fired back at the hotel. Maybe some of them would have even hit the 32nd floor.
Back when I was going to Vegas several times a year in the 1990s to oppose nuclear weapons testing and rad waste dumping I considered working at the University Medical Center, Vegas' Level 1 trauma center. I visited with the ER manager, but never ended up applying. A different life and I could have been there treating the injured.

What kind of inhumane piece of shit says "warmest condolences" in response to a murder, much less a mass shooting.
That's something you say to someone who lost their grandfather to cancer.
This requires something like what Obama or Clinton would have said. Not some orange fuck tweets while taking a shit.

Re: Gun Legislation
I looked back at the links to Obama crying during a gun control speech after one of the school shootings.
Added "fox" to my search and all articles were about how shameful it was for him to rub an onions in his eyes.
If for no other reason, I miss Obama's appropriateness.
I fear trump's inability to see people as humans - the same as him.
