But the Republican party puts its ideology and its promises to Norquist ahead of what the American people want.
45% of Americans favor equal tax increase versus spending decrease. Obama of $3 to $6 worth of spending cuts for every dollar of increased revenue, but the "my way or the highway" Pubs turned that down.
Obama's met them more than halfway, but the Pubs just won't budge.
