This session lawmakers approveded a measure to cap state income tax at 7%, if approved by voters in November. Currently, the North Carolina constitution caps income tax at 10%. This could derail future attempts to fund our public schools. Cuts to many services would likely result. NC would be forced to rely even more on lottery funds and the tax burden could be shifted to lower and middle-income taxpayers through high sales and property taxes.

A rise in sales or property taxes disproportionately impacts lower-income families and could have far-reaching effects on North Carolina's economy.

Maybe I missed something somewhere. Even before Trump announced Kavanaugh, the Dem camp and liberal media began screaming about a Trump nominee overturning Roe v. Wade. I don't recall hearing the possibility of that happening from political circles, only from the media, and at the same time that Justice Kennedy announced his retirement.
Kavanaugh did say, long before his nomination, that Roe v. Wade is a "settled issue" and is not on his agenda, despite his personal feelings on abortion. Politics; you gotta love it. Not.

Kavanaugh's nomination? I see the massive street protests if (when?) he's confirmed.

Queeg!! haha! I haven't heard that name in years! Like so much of his b.s., I believe Trump was saying what the cons wanted to hear. Fulfilling campaign promises is about as likely to happen .... wait, we ARE talking about Trump. Never mind. Just read posts on social media; good for daily laughs.

I don't know, but the evidence is overwhelming that the abortion issue is a hot ticket weapon used to stir the masses when it comes to a high-profile election, nomination, or political issue. Personally, I wish the f*ck that those responsible for stirring the sh*t pot would move their ass to another country, or just plain die off. Sh*t's getting old.

Add to that, the republican mowers and shakers who push this can easily afford to send a pregnant girlfriend or mistress to another country for an abortion/shopping weekend.

Since this is NC, 14-40, though I wouldn't object if it was 12-40.

More seriously, the rights of women of childbearing age should not be restricted by anyone, not even other women of childbearing age.

It won't have to be another country. Many states will keep abortion legal. The others will look like:
