Trolled you.... you probably thought I was going to give some bad news.

TLDR - I've got some time off from work coming up in a couple two weeks, and the forum may be unstable dead, half working, or who knows what. (As I do updates to take through the next five year mission.) Regardless, we'll be back!

Long story:

This forum runs on Linux - Ubuntu 14.04 and it's end of life security patches is coming up in the first quarter of next year. I've got to get a machine setup with Ubuntu 18.04 and migrate our forum and all the other fun stuff I use the server for to the new machine.

I haven't planned this out (That's the best way to do things! Spontaneously!), other than the obvious backups I'll be taking, but the thought will be along the lines of minimizing downtime as long as it doesn't negatively affect my maximum free time obviously this is a negative profit endeavor, so if downtime saves me overall time, I'm picking that! I will try to take the forum into a read only mode and keep it alive in that state for as much as possible, but there will be a undefined cut-over period in which we'll just disappear from the face of the internet.

That said, I'd expect to have most things running as normally the same day I start with the forum being first priority - next being the "Trump twitter" stuff, which is actually a whole separate process, then all my fun stuff behind the scenes.

I'm starting the migration.

What you'll see -- forum will go into read-only -- then the forum will not be in read-only this will happen at different times for different people due to the way the DNS is cached. You will probably have to sign in again. It'll take about an hour minimum, but could take up to 24hrs in extreme cases.

I've noticed that some avatars are missing, I'll get those on a case by case basis. There are probably other things I haven't noticed yet.

Forum may not be able to send emails correctly yet.
Trump's tweets will be behind a bit until I get a scheduled task setup to update it.

Might have found a work around for the old links, at least those that were pointing to www.blueridgedebate.com/viewtopic.php?somecrazystuff.
Emails should be starting to work.
