President* Trump

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Kinda sick of the talking heads taking this seriously. Can't they just call it what it is, Numbnuts is just trying to fulfill a campaign promise, Congress (Dems and Pubs) won't let him and he's gonna cry about it till 2020. End of story.
If only..... his campaign promise was that Mexico would pay for it. :angry-banghead:
Thump knew all along that Mexico would never put a dime towards building a wall. He spoke what rednecks and rabidly feverish numbnuts wanted to hear. Now he's got to save face, when he ought to worry about saving his ass.
I wish he had a wall, Peloosi, Schimmer, Soreass, Putin, and collusion stuck where the sun don't shine.
I wouldn't give 2 cents for a Democrat or Republican. Screw 'em all.

Stilted, stiff and painful (I think the Sanders woman was hiding under the desk poking him with a cattle prod to get him through it), crocodile tears that convince no one but his 35%.

Yeah, he was obviously sticking to the written script and you're probably right that Sanders was wielding a nice 440V Bull Buster all the while. I am still surprised that he didn't declare a state of emergency.....I was nearly sure he would. I think what needs to happen now is trump needs to chase Ted Cruz around the White House lawns until he can tackle him and start munching on his face. Ted has been courting a new look since his GOP convention speech.

I am disturbed by the image of Sanders hiding under a desk and doing anything, especially when it involves "stiff and painful".

POSPOTUS was either lying to wind up his adoring bigot Trumpettes when he dangled the idea of declaring a national emergency, or the lifelong cowardly Chickenhawk in Chief caved in to opposition.

Fact Check: Trump's prime-time speech on the government shutdown

Donald Trump's Border Speech Gets A Savage Instant Fact-Check On Fox News

Seems that all he did is look bad, lie, get caught, make no new proposals and suggest nothing that would help end the impasse. Why?

Surprising no one at all since he thinks he needs some sort of (perceived) victory to keep a campaign promise and wants to run on this in 2020, Old Yellowstain is gonna declare a "national emergency", then proceed to the ultimate FU to people that need help the most.

Border wall funds could be diverted from a pool meant for Puerto Rico, Texas and other areas hit by disasters

Who's gonna pay for the wall? Puerto Rico is gonna pay for the wall!!!

One thing that argues against the notion that Dolt .45 is directly working for Russia is that the Russians prefer it if their agents and employees are more stable and competent.

Talking head stole the phrase...
BORN WITH A SILVER FOOT IN HIS MOUTH -- State Treasurer Ann Richards of Texas in a keynote address to the Democratic National Convention in 1988 humorously changed the proverb (born with a silver spoon in one's mouth) by suggesting that George Bush was 'born with a silver foot in his mouth.'.

Has anyone flown lately? I just read that the wait times at Atlanta airport are around 2-3 hours to get through the security check point. Ouch...

Also, maybe the long shut down is by design?

A supposed senior Trump administration official writes:

https://dailycaller.com/2019/01/14/smok ... esistance/
As one of the senior officials working without a paycheck, a few words of advice for the president’s next move at shuttered government agencies: lock the doors, sell the furniture, and cut them down.

Federal employees are starting to feel the strain of the shutdown. I am one of them. But for the sake of our nation, I hope it lasts a very long time, till the government is changed and can never return to its previous form.

...

The lapse in appropriations is more than a battle over a wall. It is an opportunity to strip wasteful government agencies for good.

...
My girlfriend was telling me out in Facebook land, people are applauding the shut down. "It's free to enter national parks now! No entry fees!" someone wrote.

Also, it's common knowledge, from my experience anyway, that most people who support Trump also hate federal workers. We saw Trump point out that most federal workers are Democrats as if to drive the point home to his base that they don't matter. Federal workers getting hurt is probably seen as a plus to a good chunk of Americans.

Your life is really in a sad state of affairs when someone else's suffering brings you joy.

TV news says TSA now says 'show up 3 hours early'. That means that we can drive to Atlanta in less time than it would take to get off the ground here.

Welcome to Trump's America. I'm sure no terrorists would take advantage of the situation. Glad he's making America safer.

(Yeah, the TSA is a whole other debate.)

It's nothing less than an epic and trendsetting event that perhaps our grandchildren will one day witness again. No doubt there will be a monument to this shortly. Harrumphh.

Because you don't think it is?
I guess I should have elaborated. It's funny "strange", not funny "ha ha"; depending on your sense of (or lack of) humor.
Anyway, sorry if I offended you, I didn't realize you were a Trump fan. I'll clean up my act.
