Your passion about this makes me think it's something personal with UCF. Not a Mickey Mouse fan? :P Even leaving aside UCF, that ESPN ranking is ridiculous. It's like any number of the Bowls never happened. I’ll bet that the final polls look nothing like it.

Mickey is the real deal. Bozie, ucf and anyone else who refuses to play a schedule and then whines is a wannabe.

I would love for ucf to spend a few years playing tough teams and go on to be a top team.
A friend of my son played for them the last 3 years. Damn good kid.

Seems so weird that people would fall for this. Imagine everyone scheduling easy games so they could throw themselves parades and give themselves rings becoming the future of college ball.

ucf has made me realize that anything more than a 4 (maybe 6) team playoff leads to more effort to be #8 or #16 and healthy than playing other top teams. Maybe we could even work a few juco teams into the major conferences so the teams wouldn't have to play each other.

I'm confused.

You rant on and on about UCF not playing a tougher schedule. Then, when they pursue an investigation into possible anti-trust violations that prevent them from playing a tougher schedule, you condemn them for that.

"Imagine everyone scheduling easy games" - Like Alabama State, Arkansas, Southern Miss and Liberty? :P

What harm do you imagine from an expanded playoff? This year UCF would have been the only non-Power 5, non-Independent (Notre Dame) school to qualify and, according to you, would have lost even with their star QB. So? It's already a "joke". Alabama, especially, and OK had quality schedules. Clemson did not and the only top team that Notre Dame played was Michigan (which may plummet out of the top 10 after the hurt FL put on it, anyhow).

So UCF lost by 8 to the team they were assigned to play. So LSU was missing some players; UCF was missing its starting QB. That's the world they all had to play in.

But the bigger point is that UCF has played creditably in two post-season games against the SEC opponents they were given. If UCF were in the SEC would they be conference champs? Not likely, but neither are most of the teams in the conference, and they likely wouldn't be doormats, either. Could they play in ACC? Probably do better than UNC and several others. They'd probably do better than several teams in either Big 10 (you know who you are, Rutgers and Illinois) or Pac 12. I think they ought to be given credit for the record they earn, or given the chance to play somewhere else.

Yesterday was rough for SEC fans, hah. Georgia and Mississippi St lost outright despite being favored, while LSU couldn’t beat the spread and could have easily lost to mid-major UCF. Only KY beat the spread and got the upset while eking out its victory.

It was a 2-1 day for the Big Ten, but every Bowl was a reminder that it didn’t even make the playoffs . . . as with the Pac 12 :( .

There is no real standout conference this year.
https://www.ncaa.com/news/football/arti ... bowl-games
4-2 Conference USA did the best, in weak to moderately important games.
The Independents were 2-1, but were highlighted by Notre Dame’s humiliation.
The Sun Belt, led by my Appalachian St, was 3-2.
The Big Ten and Big 12 are barely in the black at 5-4 and 4-3 respectively.
The Pac-12 is 3-4.
American Athletic Conference including UCF is 2-5.
The ACC will finish 6-5 or 5-6.
The usually dominant SEC will finish 7-5 or 6-6.
Well, this was unexpected.

Wouldn't happen if the SEC was a competitive conference. :P

Trevor Lawrence, Clemson quarterback, true Freshman.

Lawrence attended Cartersville High School in Cartersville, Georgia. As a junior in 2016, he was The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Player of the Year after completing 250 of 406 passes for 3,904 yards and 51 touchdowns. As a sophomore, he passed for 3,655 yards and 43 touchdowns and as a freshman had 3,042 yards and 26 touchdowns. In 2017, Lawrence broke the Georgia state record for passing yards and passing touchdowns, which were previously owned by Deshaun Watson, who also played for the Clemson Tigers.

Hey, Alabama should play a schedule if they want to be in the big game. Blown out by an ACC-ish team. Tsk Tsk.

Our 2nd place Bowl winner, who also was in the regular season black, is a pool rookie this year. Turns out he is an "Assistant Professor Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Utah State University". One of our other players recruited a literal rocket scientist  . I've registered my objection and suggested that we should ban any more of them, along with brain surgeons :D .

the whiner wannabees have the easiest schedule in college football - again - among contenders. Ftfy.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/282 ... rs#slide10
Some Power Five teams will benefit from their conferences being shallow, which looks like the case in the Pac-12 and Big 12 in 2019 unless some unexpected teams improve.
Power Five teams can't rally help it if their conferences suck. Absolutely no excuse for #10. Ohio State Buckeyes, #9. Florida Gators, #8. Notre Dame Fighting Irish, #6. Clemson Tigers and #5. Syracuse Orange, though.
For others, like Washington State and Alabama, the out-of-conference schedules are filled with cruise-control games.
Wimps.
1. Central Florida Knights

... The good news is, even though star quarterback McKenzie Milton's status is up in the air, Notre Dame transfer Brandon Wimbush is coming to Orlando to help bridge the gap until Milton can get back on the field, and Wimbush is good enough to keep the Knights in the conversation.
I'm stunned that it's even a possibility that Milton will play again.
While the Knights aren't going to wow anybody with their schedule this year, at least they added a "name" team. That would be the Stanford Cardinal coming to town to play them on September 14.

They need to win that game and then hope the Cardinal have a monster season in the Pac-12. If that happens, it could (finally) be enough to propel UCF into the College Football Playoff. That's a big stretch, but it's a possibility, and it's enough to qualify them as a contender on this list.

Beyond the Cardinal, though, there isn't any substance ...
They've been trying, but all of the other quality Power Five teams, like Auburn, are too terrified to play them except with a patently unfair deal, like Florida.
https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/flori ... r-program/
:P
... Run the table and have their opponents help out, and UCF can get to the title game, even with a weak schedule.

never has been considered unfair when a new team wants to break into the big times. most others (fsu is a good example) have offered to play anyone anywhere until they were able to establish themselves

the UCFers are even bigger whiners than that blue field team

As much as I love to see bammer lose, you have to admit that dabo is just another bammer and one smack down is hardly something to crow about.
There were actually 2 wins. I liked the first one best. Kinda funny to see nikki beat by one of his own illegal pick plays.

Yeah, dabo is a bammer in every sense of the word.

Besides, there's something seriously wrong with your mascot.

Yep, pretty kinky. Funny thing - there's no way to tell that it's not an Auburn tiger. :P

It's been weeks, I wonder how long it will take 1 FAT CAN to figure out that there are no 'Bama fans here and that her/his trolling just looks silly.

True, they used our old uniforms when they had none
True, they used our tiger as a mascot because they couldn't think of a different one
True, the took our 1st AD (to teach them football)
True, they took our coach shortly after

But way the fuck off that their goofy tiger is even close to Aubie - in looks, athletics or style (we refused to let Corso wear the head because, "not just anyone gets to wear Aubie)

From wiki

"Aubie made his debut in 1979 and is a popular beloved character among Auburn fans and one of the more animated mascots in the country.

Aubie has won a record nine mascot national championships (his latest coming in 2016),[1] more than any other mascot in the United States. Aubie was named the 2014 Capital One Mascot of the Year and was among the first three college mascots inducted to the Mascot Hall of Fame, inducted on August 15, 2006."
