Pants on Fire

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Pants on Fire

Unread post by billy.pilgrim »

We have a president who has told some 10,000 lies in the past two and a half years.

We have a right winger culture that puts money and profit above all other "outdated" values.

We are huge into media, but media is a lap dog to these same blatant lies and obvious misdirection.

Even though actual facts are easily accessible - the simple facts "in support of" or "those that confirm as bullshit" all the political smoke and mirrors - is available for free from the small group of people at Politifact and all researched and verified nice and tidy for quick and easy consumption.
Yet most people choose to accept any and all lies, or to reject any and all facts, as long as it fits their personal fuck you assholes who look or think differently, anything can be believed.
This end, my end, does justify the means - always. I'm right because I believe it and there are no standards I won't break to achieve my Goal.

Long way around to say I liked the St. Pete paper in the 70s and Politifact is great now

1Cat should give it a try. There even a whole section (under People) on Obama. The thing I hate most is when they say that trump told the truth.
The Pants on Fire section is pretty good too.

Yeah, I've never seen anything even close to something like this other than Goebbels during the Nazi era. It's like I mentioned earlier; trump and the vast majority of GOP "leaders" have taken the Russian Internet Research Agency's playbook to heart; the four D's
Dismiss the critic
Distort the facts
Distract from the main issue
Dismay the audience

Unabashedly righty, but seems to be credible in their polling aggregation and presentation

So how is it that these trump idiots, and even average conservatives, are able to believe so much crap?
