Gun Legislation

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Would have been unfair at BCC as badly as we beat y'all up on the soccer field. :P

Did we play soccer? I didn't notice.

I'm not that young. That's very impressive. To be honest, I have no idea about our rivalry. I only remember winning one game, and the starting JV goalie position. Then, I transferred to a non-soccer school.

This works well too, if the attacker doesn't have a gun.

Cool. I love seeing dogs do their jobs well.
And even if the attacker has a gun, it's better to have a well-trained dog than a poorly-barely-un-trained gun owner.

Muttly O Really the Rhodesian Ridgeback sadly passed away some time ago. He was not specifically a protection dog, but as he was descended from lion-hunters and had great "pack" loyalty and no discernible fear of anything, it would not have been a good idea to accost me or Lady O when he was around - and he was always around.

Unfortunately, life now isn't the best for getting/training a new dog, but I still miss having one. I've long thought the world would be much better with more dogs and horses and fewer people.

Mini-poos are popular with the RV set. ;)

Even if not aggressive or protective, you can throw one at an intruder. :D

We do see a lot of people with pretend dogs, portable little critters, that are often very cute. Not for me, though.

I've never liked little dogs; especially Chihuahuas (I had to look up how to spell it, which gives me another reason to not like the little bastards). If I could, I'd like to have a big cat like a panther or something like that. But the ideal pet for me would be a full grown silverback gorilla who I could load up on LSD and sugar cane stalks and take out to bars with me on Saturday nights.

Police: 8-year-old accidentally shoots his mother at college baseball game

... The incident happened at a game between Memphis and UT Martin on Tuesday when the boy found the unsecured weapon in an antique car that was on display at Millington USA Stadium in Millington, Tennessee.

The mother, who was not identified, was sent to a hospital in critical condition. She was later upgraded to stable condition, according to WHBQ in Memphis.

"The juvenile believed it was a toy gun,” Millington police chief Mark Dunbar told reporters. “He picked the gun up, pulled the trigger and accidentally shot his mother. It was an accident, pure and simple.”
      Gun owner charged

Police identified the owner of the gun as 76-year-old Charles McFarland. According to Good Morning America, McFarland has been charged with reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, and no bond has been set as of yet....
Odd, just last week they were calling Charles McFarland a "responsible gun owner".

“The only thing that will stop an 8-year-old motherplugger with a gun is a good 8-year-old with a gun.”

      Or...
You shouldn't leave a gun in a show car
You shouldn't leave your show car (or any car) unlocked
If you're stupid enough to do either of these, you shouldn't own a gun

I'm guessing that one would have to defeat 2 locks and maybe 3 to get at your gun/s when you're not there.

Yeah, I suppose Miss Congeniality or its equivalent will have to do. At least we've not gotten to the medieval abortion law stage yet; they did advance a charter school scheme that taxpayers will pay for last month so I guess we're on our way. We do have, as part of the former Confederacy, a pristine legacy of bigotry, though. I can remember my parents talking about how Kennedy was "a Catholic" but I was only about six years old; didn't really know what a fucking Catholic was but could tell they thought it wasn't good. I also remember a sign at the barber shop my dad took me to that said "white patrons only" and I remember asking him what a patron was. On second thought, maybe Miss Congeniality is too generous; maybe even honorable mention or also ran are too much. Actually, fuck this place.
