Re: Animals
Red-billed quelea
"It is regarded as the most numerous undomesticated bird on earth, with the total post-breeding population sometimes peaking at an estimated 1.5 billion individuals."
Only mention it because I've never heard of it before today.
Most Populous Bird Species In The World
1 Domestic chicken 22.67 Billion
2 Red-billed quelea 1.5 Billion
3 Mourning Dove 475 Million
4 American Robin 310 Million
5 Common pheasant 160 Million to 219 Million
6 Red winged blackbird 210 Million
7 Chipping Sparrow 200 Million
8 Common Starling 100 Million to 199 Million
9 Common swift 95 Million to 164 Million
10 Yellow-rumped warbler 130 Million
I'm surprised that pigeons (rock doves) and gulls don't make the list.

Re: Animals
Gives new meaning to the old "bird in the hand" adage; a bird in the hand is of no consequence; there's lots more where that came from. Also, even if you discount chickens (three for a dollar) that still means there must be a hell of a lot more worms than I ever thought there were. The biggest takeaway from all this ,though, is that birds have lots more sex than humans.
A lot of people don't know this, but Dick Cheney catches birds and waterboards them with a thimble on his secluded ranch in Wyoming. He tries to smile while he does it but only manages a grimace.

Idk about Dolt .45’s “Prince of Whales”, but right whales are certainly royalty.

It would seem the proverbial big bad wolf has been found. It's head is damn near the length of a modern wolf's torso.

You may have been joking, but you may also be right. There are human artifacts from what is now Russia site dated to 45,000 BC which would make the inhabitants the earliest known ancestors of Europeans today. Deep ingrained fear of the (really really) big bad wolf got into the DNA. And now they're endangered everywhere.neoplacebo wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 3:55 pmIt would seem the proverbial big bad wolf has been found. Re: Animals
Well, the story says the head measures 41.5cm which they say is 16" and that a modern wolf entire torso (I assume from front legs to ass) is from 66cm to 86cm which is about 24" and 35" respectively. That seems to be in line with the size of any wolves I ever saw. So that makes this the King Hell wolf in my book.O Really wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 4:07 pmYou may have been joking, but you may also be right. David Byrne and Talking Heads also explained this in the song "Making Flippy Floppy." "We got great big bodies; we got great big heads." Another line from the same song goes "our president's crazy; did you hear what he said?" But that's another story.
