Gun Legislation

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

It looks to me like all this panic and stampedeism could be avoided if US and Canadian gun nuts just went ahead and acted like they do in most of the Middle Eastern countries; over there folks fire guns into the air at weddings and most other joyous occasions, or sometimes just for the hell of it. I myself have no guns but there's been many a time in which I was so full of good tidings that had I had an automatic weapon or even a double barrel sawed off shotgun I would have plowed through a clip or blasted both barrels to demonstrate my approval of whatever was going on.

Take a ride in that fast Camaro you have to NY Times Square for the next New Year's Eve celebration and fire a shot gun in the air.

If I take the T tops off I can fire and drive at the same time; shoot birds on the fly, blast hell out of road signs I don't like or consider to be in error; the possibilities are endless.

Heh, sort of reminds me of when I became a certified member of the US Navy except I was mostly wondering what the hell I'd gotten myself into. Luckily, we had the Marines to do that killing stuff. Most Navy killing is done at long distance unless you're a SEAL

NRA Suspends Two Leaders Amid Accusations of Coup Attempt

This is why NRA conventions are gun-free zones. They’re going to need their Russian benefactors to sort things out.

So I guess you favor loosening regulations/restrictions on drugs, yes? If a law isn't perfect, get rid of all laws. If you can't stop all killings, why bother to stop any? A response without a meme would be appreciated.

Drugs are a stupid and/or wussy deflecting comparison. No one in power is seriously proposing gun prohibition.

The FACT is that states on average and comparable nations with stricter gun control have lower murder rates. For example:
These 2 Laws Are Tied to Lower Gun Homicide Rates
New research suggests restricting who can have a gun is more effective than banning a type of gun when it comes to curbing homicides.
        https://www.usnews.com/news/healthiest- ... cide-rates
“Across U.S. states, laws banning gun possession for people who had been convicted of a violent misdemeanor were associated with an 18.1 percent reduction in gun homicide rates, Siegel's study found, while universal background checks were linked to a 14.9 percent decline.”

With the research that gunhuggers are so pants-wetting terrified of, we will surely learn what other reasonable regulations are effective and constitutional.

Yeah, but the logic makes so much sense. There are laws against murder in all states, yet people still get murdered. There are laws against robbery and burglary, too , yet people are still robbed and homes burgled. In fact, I can't think of any serious law ever passed that has not had some violations. Therefore, following the excellent logic of the gun ummm "enthusiasts" all effort to curb any behaviour is useless and thus all laws should be repealed. Allrightythen.

Their ability to think rationally is clouded by huffing gun oil, their obsession with their fetish toy compensations, and being too cowardly to accept reality.

You'll never get a response without a meme or some religious psychobabble bullshit or both from the self righteous knows all and sees all (of what he's memorized from right wing media) numero uno fat can. Has no ability to reason nor ability for critical thinking. They should name a fucking school after him and set it on fire on opening day.

Yeah, CAT's not much of a thinker. It's just not his game, I guess. The term "gadfly" comes to mind.
