Least surprising? That would be #1, of course.

Yeah, I screwed up the phrasing, thanks.
I AM NOT surprised that so many cops are bigoted or otherwise offensive.
I AM NOT surprised that so many cops are stupid enough to post about it to Facebook and get caught.
I AM surprised that PDs are taking this seriously and will discipline the stupid bad cops.
I AM surprised that a Texas PD is taking this seriously and will discipline the stupid bad cops.

But will you be surprised if the cop or cops get their pay until they quit or are fired and immediately go to work in the next county or state?Vrede too wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2019 1:51 pmYeah, I screwed up the phrasing, thanks.

I’m sad to see that only 8 locales were looked at to find the 1000 bad cops.billy.pilgrim wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2019 4:06 pmBut will you be surprised if the cop or cops get their pay until they quit or are fired
No, but that doesn't necessarily bother me. Suspension with pay gets bad cops immediately off the street without unfairly punishing good cops. Rarely, there is suspension without pay, but I think that's reserved for near certain criminal behavior.
and immediately go to work in the next county or state?
No, nor if punishments are inadequate at their current jobs. I hope the Plain View Project keeps the public informed about their history and ongoing activities.
Database
Maybe there will be more to come.
For states with BRD members, just:
Lake County, FL
Phoenix, AZ - 1 FAT CAN claims to be AZ LE, hmmm.

It's sad that people that are responsible, reliable, are prioritized and often unnoticed. That's been the liberal & liberal-like way for a long while though.

This story could go in several threads...Can't Make This Up, LEO, "A Quebec Man", Dumb Headlines, or whatever, but LEO was at the top of the list:
Guy gets beaten up, cops show up, "rescue" him and lay him down on the ground. Went looking for the perps, but left their car out of gear, which ran over the injured guy and killed him

Most of the folks here with less than 17,700 posts haven't seen your Fox News story, but it's a start.

In America the cops would have accused the beaten guy of attacking the cruiser, which feared for its life.

Re: The LEO thread
Fulton County GA I suspect has more than its share of ignorant rednecks with guns. I venture to say that anyone else who happened to knock on the door of that house would also likely have been shot whether it was the paper boy, mailman, cable tv guy, or anyone else. It's like the quote from one of the old Hell's Angels back in the 60's....."people are just gonna have to learn to stay out of our way." This redneck love story is just that; it's unfortunate that a cop was killed over it, but the fact remains that emotional situations present more danger for cops, firemen, and paramedics than the standard crimes of property, car crashes, and five alarm fires. A lovesick redneck with a gun is the more serious threat.1 CAT FAN wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 11:39 amDeputy gunned down responding to call becomes 5th officer fatally shot in last 8 daysFulton County Sheriff's deputy Troy Chisum, 39, was responding to a battery and disturbance call at a rural home in Avon, which is about an hour west of Peoria, when he was shot by a suspect inside the home, authorities said. Chisum had worked for the Fulton County Sheriff's Office for 4 1/2 years and was also a paramedic with Fulton County EMA. Fulton County Sheriff Jeff Standard, overcome with emotion, said at a news conference on Wednesday, "I stand before you today saddened and at a loss of adequate words to express the grief we are feeling over the loss of one of our own." "Deputy Chisum dedicated his life to the service of his community," Standard said in a statement. "His legacy and sacrifice will forever be remembered."

Re: The LEO thread
Amidst the turmoil in America these days, he sounds like a good Law Enforcement officer that did things the right way. Thank you for your service, Sir.
“Everything I have accomplished, everything I have yet to accomplish has always been for him,” Chisum’s eldest daughter said. “I was terrified to start this job on the ambulance. I truly did not know if I had what it took. If I could measure up to all that he was as a medic. But, he did. He always knew how strong I was even when I didn’t know. It was always meant to be that way; written in the stars, him and I in the back of an ambulance together. In him I found my identity.” At one point in his career, Chisum delivered a baby and now, somewhere in Peoria, there is a boy named Troy because, “Troy is a good guy.” https://www.pjstar.com/news/20190701/fu ... roy-chisum

It's hard to imagine any "business" more purposefully contrived solely for corruption.
