Actually, we ALL lost to 45SHOLE.
Bernie just watched "Network" too many times.
On the other hand, it's a speech that is unfortunately even more apropos now than in '76...

Bernie's departure from the running was just a formality. It's just as well though, the lesbian saw the exit door too.

Sadly, he may be correct.
I'm thinking about moving to Wisconsin about this time next year. I figure that I could stay inside where it's warm.
Voting in Florida seems more and more like a waste of time.

Re: 2020 Elections
Voting in Florida for president or senator isn't a waste on a state-wide count. Voting for anybody else where you live would be a waste, I'd agree.
But having spent most of a couple of Januaries in Wisconsin about a hundred miles north of Green Bay, I don't recommend the move even though the state could use your voting help. Winter is too long to stay inside all the time and that's more of a problem than the actual cold itself. Which in my case (I think it was 2015 and 16) didn't get much above zero during the whole month, and got down to -28 (real temp) a few times. Just go down to the beach and don't let the politicians screw with your life.

Wisconsin has been rather rightwing lately. 2018 may have signaled a shift back to sanity, but who knows. It does have the advantage of being easier to flee to Canada from.billy.pilgrim wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2019 12:01 pm... I'm thinking about moving to Wisconsin about this time next year. I dunno, man. You can fly to Canada from anywhere, but if you're talking about driving to Canada from Wisconsin, you gotta go through either Michigan or Minnesota, and then when you do, you're in the middle of nowhere on your way to maybe Winnipeg, the coldest city over 200K in the world.

Gotta be legal to fly or drive. I meant billy.pilgrim boating at night as an undocumented refugee, or even a fugitive after one final act of rebellion against American fascism.

As far as the cold is concerned, I may love it. If not, then I'll likely move south in late November.

Idk, I haven't seen state-by-state polling yet. I THINK both count as POTUS-purple until proven otherwise.

Amy McGrath Raises $2.5 Million in First Day of Kentucky Senate Bid
Amy McGrath, a retired Marine lieutenant colonel and combat pilot who is seeking to unseat Senator Mitch McConnell in 2020, raised $2.5 million in the first 24 hours of her campaign, her campaign manager said Wednesday.
The fund-raising haul eclipsed the first-day totals raised by some heavyweight contenders in the presidential race, including Senators Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren. It suggests that Ms. McGrath retains some of the star power she harnessed during her failed bid last year to capture a House seat in Kentucky.
It is also an indication of just how badly Democrats want to oust Mr. McConnell, the Senate majority leader....

Boris Johnson: the clown is crowned as the country burns in hell
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfr ... are_btn_tw
Well, here we are then. Someone who could easily be rejected as a Guess Who character for looking too ridiculous is now to lead the country. A man whose DNA profile is the exact same as a Bernard Manning joke. A man who mentioned the 20 hustings he had taken part in, approximately 30 seconds after Conservative party chairman Brandon Lewis talked of the 16 hustings held.
With 8,000 members of the Johnson family watching on – and Jeremy Hunt, looking for all the world like a sub who’s never gonna get off the bench and knows it – Boris Johnson was announced as the new leader of the Conservative party, and, in short order, the new prime minister. Elected by a staggering 0.2% of the nation, we can’t say it isn’t the will of the people.
It’s quite extraordinary, isn’t it, when the new leader of the country opens his inaugural speech with: “There may be people here who wonder quite what they have done!” – having to address the fact that many people in the room are coming to terms with the fact they’ve got shit on their shoe.
