Pretty amazing how the right attacks such minor bullshit, but accepts a hundred times the lies, twit deleations and incoherence of trump.

Still the funniest part to me, that he was so stupid as to get himself and a buddy fired over fake news. He's a "special" con.Vrede too wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2019 11:24 ambilly.pilgrim wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2019 9:09 amhttps://www.nola.com/news/crime_police/ ... 48a10.html
Cop says to shoot member of Congress. My bet, he keeps his job, or gets one in the next town or parish.... (Chief Arthur) Lawson said he does not think the comment constitutes an actual threat, but it appears to violate the department's social media policy, which he said all officers have read and signed....
Rispoli's comment referred to a fake news story he posted to his personal Facebook page on Thursday at 1:51 p.m. The story's headline attributed a fabricated quote to Ocasio-Cortez saying, "We pay soldiers too much." The photo on the post is marked as "satire" and it had been labeled "false" by the website snopes.com on Wednesday, but Rispoli appeared to be upset by it....Add gullible stupidity to the reasons to discipline/fire him.

Business as usual in a con anti-tax state:
Alaska's Police Crisis: Every Cop in This Village Has Been Convicted of Domestic Violence
... Due to the remote location of the village and the $14 an hour salary, applicants willing to take the role are often limited to ex-convicts.
In addition, only one officer from the seven-man police force has received formal law enforcement training.
Nimeron Mike applied to be a cop with the station late last December. He never expected his application to be successful. After all, he was a registered sex offender who had recently served six years in an Alaska jail. His criminal record also listed a slew of various crimes, including assault, domestic violence, vehicle theft, groping a woman, hindering prosecution, reckless driving and drunk driving....
In 2017, the current police chief in Stebbins pleaded guilty to forcing a teenager to the ground and threatening to end her life. The official, who was not identified in the article, was intoxicated at the time, despite alcohol being outlawed in the village where the crime occurred.

Lots of openings out there for Mr Rispoli. The referenced Iowa state patrol position has been filled but the small town of Durant has a vacancy.
[One of town's three cops resigns after video is released showing him striking biker during traffic stop in 2017]
http://va.topbuzz.com/s/eFRQhw
"Smith was one of three full-time officers in the town of 1,800.
Durant hired Smith last year after he resigned from the Iowa State Patrol following an investigation into his arrest of motorcyclist Bryce Yakish.
On September 25th, 2017, Smith - then an Iowa state trooper - pulled Yakish over for allegedly speeding.
Smith was recorded on his dashcam drawing his gun and then striking Yakish in his helmet's face shield for no apparent reason."

Lost 2 jobs for the same incident because of his OWN dashcam, what a moron!billy.pilgrim wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 10:23 amLots of openings out there for Mr Rispoli. The referenced Iowa state patrol position has been filled but the small town of Durant has a vacancy.

Smith was recorded on his dashcam drawing his gun and then striking Yakish in his helmet's face shield for no apparent reason."
He's a cop and his lips were moving, so . . .... In a criminal complaint against Yakish, Smith didn't mention his use of force and falsely claimed that Yakish 'attempted a U-Turn in front of me' and that he had activated his lights and siren throughout the pursuit.
Yakish admitted that he was speeding but said he didn't know the trooper was trying to pull him over until the end.
Smith charged Yakish with eluding even though that requires a driver to be speeding 25 mph over the limit away from a police car that has turned on its lights and siren.
Eluding is an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by up to two years in prison.
Cedar County Attorney Jeffrey Renander later downgraded the charge to reckless driving, saying it better fit the circumstances. Yakish paid a $250 fine.
Smith left the patrol after the investigation concluded in 2018, following a 30-year career. He was then hired in Durant, where his wife previously served as mayor.
Residents there protested Smith's use of force while arresting a woman outside of a bar last summer.
In May, Cedar County Sheriff Warren Wethington banned Smith and other Durant officers from bringing suspects to his jail in May. Wethington said he couldn't vouch for their credibility.
Speaking about the 2017 video, the sheriff said: 'It's pretty damning.'

Your suspicion is correct. White Arkansas redneck gets out of his car and immediately starts shooting at the cop; cop shoots back. Redneck drives away.

Re: The LEO thread
Depending on where they live, what their beat is, and what their assignment is, being a cop can without doubt be dangerous. And sometimes that danger involves somebody shooting at them. No argument there. But quite a few jobs involve greater danger, and people in those jobs go to work every day not knowing if they'll make it home safely. 2003 to 2013, there were nearly 9,000 violent workplace deaths. Over half of them were due to shooting. Considering only on-the-job murders (about 9% of the total deaths), cops are slightly ahead of retail sales workers in absolute number of deaths in that period (129 to 118). In terms of fatalities on the job, here are the top 25 (cops are #18):
- Fishers and related fishing workers
Logging workers
Aircraft pilots and flight engineers
Roofers
Refuse and recyclable material collectors
Structural iron and steel workers
Driver/sales workers and truck drivers
Farmers, ranchers and other agricultural managers
First-line supervisors of landscaping, lawn service and groundskeeping workers
Electrical power-line installers and repairers
Miscellaneous agricultural workers
First-line supervisors of construction trades and extraction workers
Helpers, construction trades
Maintenance and repair workers, general
Grounds maintenance workers
Construction laborers
First-line supervisors of mechanics, installers and repairers
Police and sheriff’s patrol officers
Operation engineers and other construction equipment operators
Mining machine operators
Taxi drivers and chauffeurs
Athletes, coaches, umpires and related workers
Painters, construction and maintenance
Firefighters
Electricians

When a fisher or a logger dies on the job, it doesn't get national headlines and the taxpayers don't pay for other fishers or loggers to attend their funeral from 2 states away.

Your garbage collector has a way more dangerous job, works for the same city, gets paid less, and positively affects your life more directly more frequently. How about a little respect, here?
