The LEO thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Nope, he acted appropriately & professional. Just imagining either you two in a high speed car chase is hilarious. Liberals would claim police brutality, but you already knew that.

There ought to be standards on when it's worth engaging in a high speed chase. Some police departments have them, having found the risk to the officer and the public to be greater than the value derived from a successful catch.

Most workplace heroes get honored for doing something heroic. Cops get the hero treatment even if they were doing something stupid.

You're absolutely goddam right; she was very cooperative; mostly because the cop turned his attention to her......hands up.....down on your knees....all that shit when she was obviously no threat and was even trying to tell the cop she didn't know her friend would go over the high side. Do you consider that officer's action in that instance to be anything other than panic and confusion? I don't. He didn't pursue the guy who shot at him. I sure as hell would. But you see this in a sort of warped type of way.
Wait a second, if you had the choice between chasing a guy who just shot at you or detaining an unarmed woman that's obviously no threat with no car chase, and you're going to get paid, get donuts and get called a 'hero' either way, which would you really choose? ;) :D
Actually, I think I would have headed out after him. His vehicle was no match for the high performance cop car, and having already called in for backup, I would be quite confident that the situation would very soon be coming to an end one way or another. Plus, I figure it's a lot easier to shoot ahead while driving than it is to shoot to your rear while driving. And, finally, there's nothing cops like better than when someone is running from them in a motor vehicle; it's what they live for and they secretly hope that every traffic stop results in a high speed chase. The only part of this they don't particularly like is when the pulled over driver waits for the cop to come to their car before taking off......they really get pissed when they have to run back to their car and then begin pursuit.

Yeah, I was mostly joking. But, there may be some protocol where you stick with the bird in the hand. It'd be really embarrassing if the shooter turned out to be the woman's employee and a cop let her go.

Their lips were moving:
St. Louis prosecutor says (prosecutors and) police fabricated evidence that put man in jail for 24 years

Prosecutors in St. Louis are seeking a new trial for a black man sentenced to life without parole in a 1994 murder case after finding that prosecutors and police fabricated evidence and paid the only eyewitness over $4,000....

Among the errors the unit outlined in its review include “the concealment of more than $4,000 in payments to the sole eyewitness, the failure to disclose the complete criminal and informant history of the state’s jailhouse informant,” and “the fabrication of false witness accounts during the law enforcement investigation used to provide a motive that did not exist.” ...

Johnson was tried before Campbell and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.

Campbell was given a deal in which he pleaded guilty to a voluntary manslaughter charge and was only required to serve a seven-year sentence. The office said he was later found to be “one of the true perpetrators” behind the murder.

According to the office, Campbell and another man named James “BA” Howard “credibly confessed to the shooting of Boyd in signed sworn affidavits, personal writings dating back to 1996, and in interviews with counsel for Johnson and the CIU.”

“Letters from Campbell denying Johnson’s involvement were confiscated by and in the possession of the state, however, no action was taken to correct the wrongful conviction of Johnson,” the office stated.

Johnson has maintained his innocence over the years. He repeatedly petitioned the court with new evidence based on letters and affidavits signed by Campbell and Howard and pointing to facts uncovered since his trial about police and prosecutorial conduct in his case. Each of his petitions have been denied.

Police officer who accused McDonald's staff of biting his sandwich for being a cop admits forgetting he ate it himself

... "I went to the McDonald's and talked to the supervisor. She offered me some free food I didn't care anything about. I just wanted to find out who the person was and they deal with that person in an appropriate way." ...
What a whiny prick! Not just for forgetting that he was the McChicken nibbler, but also for assuming an anti-cop McDonald's employee did it when it had sat for 7 hours in a PD frig. Anyone could have been the perp.

Back before customers filled their own drinks I was behind a cop at a fast food counter when the teen server caught the bottom of the cup on her own side of the counter, soaking his lap area. The crybaby immediately accused her of doing it on purpose. We witnesses told him to STFU, that it was obviously just clumsiness. And yes, it was hilarious.

Comments:
It's a good thing this cop wasn't "in fear for his life."
I'm trying my best to figure out why he just didn't go into Mac's and taze all the employees for not cooperating, that is the standard operating procedure.
He was saving that for the McDonald's employee he wanted to confront.
He might have been though. We should praise him for his restraint! Lmao
word
He may just forget to insert the magazine anyway. Halt police...click....damn you McDonalds!!!!

A State Trooper pulled over a Man for Speeding one afternoon. After the car pulled over the officer took the Gentleman out of the car and told him to put his hands on the hood of his car. The Trooper told the man ( sir, the reason i stopped your vehicle is you were going 80 miles over the posted speed limit and it took me miles to catch up to you ) the man looked at the Officer and said ( I'm sorry Officer but there's a good reason why I was Speeding) the Officer looked at the Man and said ( if you can give me one good reason why you were Speeding, I will let you off with a warning) the man began to explain ( a few years ago my Wife ran off with a State Trooper and when I saw you in my rear view mirror I panicked. I thought You Were Bringing Her Back.

Insanity begat delusion.
Delusion begat paranoia.
Paranoia begat perpetual victimhood.
Perpetual victimhood begat asshole Barney Fife thinking that McDomalds workers are nibbling his McChicken . . . as if they could have known that he wouldn't open the sandwich immediately and raise hell before even leaving.
Blue entitlement begat his trying to throw his weight around.

Fwiw, they spit, not nibble.

Yeah they do - at the drive-ups, but I read recently about food delivery people eating some of the food they deliver - and it wasn't the least uncommon. Particularly on stuff that can't be caught easily, like orders of fries, sips out of drinks, spoonful or so from the curry bowl, etc. Apparently, a driver can pretty much eat free every night if he's busy.

I can believe that, but who leaves marks? I'm not sure which is more disturbing, that he's an asshole cop or that he's such an idiot with a gun.

Well, this guy would probably be an asshole even if he weren't a cop, but the idiot with a gun - and some authority - part is pretty bad.
