Guns, race, religion, terror, wingnut thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Interesting, NEWS TARGET, which also features a deceptive article titled "U.S. government admits vaccines are harmful to children", doesn't even have an "About" page let alone one that IDs its funding so that we might assess its credibility.

Also, no credentials are listed for Greg White. NEWS TARGET doesn't even say that he writes articles, it calls them "posts". You pick the oddest sources, Wneglia.

Anyhow, the article is ridiculous on its face. No one is "taking" the Hammond Ranch, the poaching dispute and criminal arson by the Hammonds were on leased federal land.
... This would also explain why U.S. authorities have been coming down so hard on protesters. Officials aren’t prosecuting individuals because of the Hammond controversy. Officials are coming down on protesters because they are occupying a valuable piece of land; a piece of land that was promised to the Russians.....
Fail. The protesters occupied the Malhuer Refuge, not the Hammond Ranch or even the federal land the Hammonds were leasing.

Then, there's the question of whether there's any uranium there at all, let alone "a gold mine" (dumb comparison) of it. There are no uranium mines in OR, possible deposits may not even reach as far north as the Hammonds' ranch, and demand and price are decreasing thanks to arms control and the collapse of the nuclear power industry. "Follow" what "money"?

Plus, the Hammonds have rejected any association with the VanillaISIS occupiers, another broken link in the imaginary chain.

Not that I'm a fan of the Clinton Foundation's dancing on the edge of ethical behavior, but your goofy claim based on a way inaccurate article from a secretive source would have been better called: Flubbed tortuous link to the Clintons.

Straight to the Clintons.

Just like the earlier claim: Senator Harry Reid and a Chinese company building a solar plant are behind a standoff between federal agents and a Nevada rancher. In the real world the solar plant was going to be several hours drive away from the Bundy ranch, and the plan had been cancelled over a year earlier.

Which didn't stop the inbreds from posting it here and to a thousand other forums. Like your post, it had a wingnut source that stated the conspiracy theory. And a credible source.... which while being a credible source, did not in any way back the claim.

Yes Wneglia, we followed the money. It led to InfoWars, BeforeItsNews and various right-wing blogs monetizing the goddamned stupid and gullible.

Now all they've done is a simple search & replace the old articles. Harry Reid-backed Chinese solar plant for a Clinton-backed Russian uranium mine. Because they can count on the inbreds not noticing.

Sprawling Malheur County could soon be in the spotlight as a mining hub -- or a battleground of uranium and gold mining interests ...

Oregon Energy's proposal calls for extracting ore from a mile-long, 600-foot wide, 250-foot deep open pit 10 miles west of McDermitt and 3 miles north of the Oregon-Nevada border....
Opps. 2012  . Neither the Hammonds' Ranch nor the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge are in Malheur County, they're in Harney County, and the Hammonds' Ranch is a good 60 miles NNW of this proposed mine. Map much?

Nuclear Industry Not Dead

Such speculation does not compensate for the collapse of the nuclear power industry in Japan, Europe and North America and does not equal an increase in uranium demand and price.

This guy tries to connect the dots

Backing up one tin foil hat with another?
... “In September 2011, a representative from Oregon Energy, L.L.C. (formally Uranium One), met with local citizens, and county and state officials, to discuss the possibility of opening a uranium oxide (‘yellowcake’) mine in southern Malheur County in southeastern Oregon....

Southern Malheur is the general area of the federal-protestor standoff....
Still not Harney County, unless "general area" means Oregon or Pacific Northwest. He doesn't map much, either.
... “However, by the fall of 2012 the company said that it was putting its plans for the mine on hold until the uncertainty surrounding sage grouse issues was resolved.” ...
 Your 3rd link debunked your 1st one. Sweet, saved me from having to do the research on the current status of the proposed mine that you didn't.
In other words, there is zero evidence that there's any uranium under the BLM land the Hammonds were leasing or the Hammonds' ranch, there are no active plans for uranium mining anywhere in Oregon, there's no evidence uranium demand and price will increase and make such mining feasible, and this is all a factually failed and otherwise massively tenuous attempt to smear the Clintons when there's plenty of real stuff to do that with.

Honestly, Wneglia, you can do better than siding with criminals like the Hammonds and YeeHawdi Cowliphate Bundys.

I am not siding with them. They should be punished for the laws they broke. I just think there is more going on in that part of the country than we think. Will be interesting to follow events there.

On what basis? Your connections failed on facts, geography and mine status. Also, the Hammonds original conviction was in 2012 followed by their illegally short, as it turned out, imprisonment. If anyone was going to make a move on the imaginary uranium it would have already happened.

Wneglia, I got distracted by you and your wingnutty article tying the Hammonds and occupiers to the Clintons when in fact the Hammonds' issues with the feds stretch back to 1994, 18 years before a uranium mine 60+ miles away was proposed.

However, this alone is pretty damning:

That's just it, the NYT article Wneglia linked is very unfavorable facts for the Clintons as best we know them but, as is so common with the GOP these days, they then go off into loony land and wreck whatever legit case they could have tried to make. The Hammonds may be victims of con-created overly harsh sentencing guidelines for their crimes, but there is nothing "more going on in that part of the country than we think."

Benghazi is another example. People died and the administration could have handled it and the aftermath better but noooo, that ain't good enough for the GOP to address. It had to unpatriotically exploit the dead Americans for years by trying to create some evil grander conspiracy and cover up, and only ended up hurting itself in the process.

It's like they've chosen to make Alex Jones the face of the party in place of rational conservatism.

The Nuclear Retreat

We coined the term, "Nuclear Retreat" here at Beyond Nuclear to counter the nuclear industry's preposterous "nuclear renaissance" propaganda campaign. You've probably seen "Nuclear Retreat" picked up elsewhere and no wonder - the alleged nuclear revival so far looks more like a lot of running away. On this page we will keep tabs on every latest nuclear retreat as more and more proposed new nuclear programs are canceled.

Pro-Confederate group endorses Donald Trump in S.C.

... Several neo-Confederate and white supremacist groups have expressed support for Trump....

Carter also praised Trump’s proposal to ban Muslim immigrants from entering the country. He noted the SCCAC has fought against the resettlement of Syrian refugees in South Carolina. Carter described this as “the importation of Muslims.”

“We like our country like it is, and we don’t want it permanently changed by a bunch of people who have a lot of different opinions about things, and are really opposed to us in a lot of ways,” Carter said....

Along with the endorsement of Trump, the paper’s front page features an article that asks in a headline, “Is Barack Obama a Muslim?”

Image

... A website linked to (Dylann) Roof indicated he attacked the church in the hopes of starting a race war, and showed multiple pictures of him posing with the flag.

Roof was also a major topic at the rally, with Carter and other speakers criticizing him as a drug-addled lunatic. One speaker suggested the shooting was an “inside job” by the federal government to stoke opposition to the Confederate flag.

... Weberburger was holding a number of Confederate flags. Also, he wore a yarmulke and fake beard, and carried a sign that said, “HOLOCAUST 1865 NEVER FORGET.” Weberburger told Yahoo News that he is “a little bit Jewish” by ancestry, though it’s not his religion. He explained that his outfit and sign was meant to make the point that the burning of Columbia was “a holocaust.”

“It was a holocaust, and Jews are especially sensitive to that. I wish more would be,” Weberburger said. “Judah Benjamin was actually in the Cabinet of Jefferson Davis in the war between the states.”

Benjamin, who was a Jew, served as the Confederacy’s attorney general, secretary of war, and secretary of state.

“He was secretary of state, I believe,” Weberburger said.

Davis piped in.

“He was the money man, Benjamin was, I believe,” Davis said.
