Whoosh. I don't need it explained, but maybe a middle school kid could help you out.Ulysses wrote: ↑Tue Feb 22, 2022 9:18 pmLooks like a crew boat. There was no crew boat involved. Don't get the connection, but that's OK. I'm just glad to know you're having fun. I used to watch (sometimes) UC Berkeley crews practising out at the Berkeley Marina lagoon just east of the freeway. Interesting.

Hi,
To paraphrase your own Summerville, SC hiring manager - I recommend if you are a retail chain and you expect people to shop at your stores, that you have a more appropriate response to a cheerful and harmless voicemail message. Instead, you hired a dick that besmirched your brand for no good reason.
Paraphrasing again - So, thank you for this webform and you need to email me that the hiring manager has been fired and Zanaya Jones has been offered a job if you ever want me to shop at your Hendersonville, NC store again.

Nope. You're Punchy, Stretch, and Useless. Make no mistake. And where's Dean Martin's drink? But never mind that shit. I'm fixing Sloppy Joes using ground round instead of regular hamburger. Yesterday my health care provider came by with an $80 dose of the finest Mr Natural medicine known; it makes you eat well, get plenty of rest, and just generally makes things more clear but at at the same time more bearable. And I'm gonna have fries with this....Nathan's, the best frozen fries and onion rings available.

Again my screen name is Ulysses.
If you want me to acknowledge one of your posts to me, you'll need to use "Ulysses" to address me.
It's that simple.
I will not respond in future to name-calling.
This is not rocket science.

Re: The Food Thread
I buy mostly organic, mostly locally sourced tomatoes from the Co-op. Not as good as fresh off my own vine, but close.O Really wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 9:14 pmNot that it necessarily applies to anyone here, but a lot of people who don't like tomatoes are people who have never had a good one. The rock-hard semi-green stuff from the grocery doesn't count. It's barely the same food as the ones grown in a real garden and ripened on the vine, pulled off when ripe and immediately tossed into a salad, onto the BL or plopped on top of a Jimmy Buffet style burger.
FYI:

OEHHA probably has similar info for your coastal fish, but I couldn't easily find it.

Re: The Food Thread
I first attended UCDavis, which is the most agriculturally oriented of the nine (at the time) UC campuses. They had (and probably still have) and annual event named "Tomato Day". After a couple of years, I got bored to tears with all the various agricultural "days" there, and transferred to UC Berkeley, which was, as our governor says, transformative.O Really wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 9:14 pmNot that it necessarily applies to anyone here, but a lot of people who don't like tomatoes are people who have never had a good one. You might be interested to know that agricultural science has succeeded in presenting tomatoes for sale that look ripe and tasty. But that is no longer a guarantee that they will be tasty. A combination of various genetic and other post-harvesting treatments may make them look ripe, but they are not as ripe as if they were left on the vine to mature.
As you say, if one wants truly ripe and tasty tomatoes, the thing to do is grow your own, preferably an heirloom variety. IMHO. The problem can be that the tomato growing season is generally just in summer. The tomatoes one gets in the markets in the winter are either imported or hot house grown. IMHO.
