Rows of seats were empty and swaths of gray concrete in the wings of the upper deck were visible at Capital One Field. Word around town was that there was a championship parade for some local baseball team about 10 miles away.

It wasn’t far-fetched to believe a bunch of Maryland fans were there to cheer on the Washington Nationals instead of the struggling Terps.

But I do notice that the list doesn't purport to rate actual voting behaviour or participation by students, but only whether the school signed up to participate in a particular program sponsored by NSLVE. A school could theoretically give each student individual training in voting, provide election candidate evaluation materials, give them rides to register and haul them down to vote and it still wouldn't make this list if it hadn't signed up for the program.

In COLLEGE FOOTBALL news with the recent Florida State head coach firing, Maryland hasn't made a decision currently with it's leadership. Apparently, Maryland has become accustomed with losing, I don't blame the students or anyone else for not attending the games. You have to give the current coach credit though, he hasn't allowed a player to die under his watch.

My Ohio State family are excited. I told them to enjoy the cooler weather while they watch the Buckeyes annihilate the Terps. Oh yeah, Maryland won't have to be concerned about no one being in attendance.

ESPN’s Paul Finebaum is often a Clemson critic when it comes to comparisons between the Tigers and top-tier SEC programs. But Wednesday on ESPN’s Get Up!, Finebaum took a stance that last night’s rankings were the best thing that could happen to Clemson.

“Dabo Swinney went out last night and got an RC Cola and a pizza and celebrated, because he can finally be an underdog again,” Finebaum said. “He didn’t like being No. 1. They didn’t play very well. And now, I think, Clemson is the most dangerous team in the country.”

Georgia has quality wins over Notre Dame and Florida, but also that embarrassing 3-point loss to unranked South Carolina.

Like Clemson, Oregon, Utah and Oklahoma have no wins vs ranked teams.

Ignoring the 2-loss teams for argument’s sake, 8-0 Baylor, who I detest, has at least beaten (trounced) #23 Oklahoma State. Seems to me that it along with possibly Georgia, who I also detest, have strong cases for being ahead of Bama and Clemson.

8-0 #17 Minnesota also has no wins vs a ranked team, but that will change when it slaughters PSU on Sat . If so, could there be any case for keeping it out of the top 4?

Either LA or AL will lose and drop, perhaps to #5 or further. However:
#6 Georgia plays 5-3 Missouri.
#9 Oklahoma plays 5-3 Iowa State.

If either wins it ought to pass Clemson and keep it out of the top 4.

If #17 Minnesota (8-0) beats #4 Penn State, I’m not sure what happens. Either victor should be placed higher than Clemson, though.
