Re: NFL Football
Ummm, what?
Is CTE running rampant in the league as well as covid? Even stranger, there's no explanation for what the rationale is.
3 NFL teams nearly forfeited games and paychecks, leading players to clamor for end to COVID-19 testing and protocols

Meh, on behalf of the Bills go @Indianapolis 7-6 > 2.5 point favorite New England 9-4, 1st AFC East (8:20 PM EST on NFLN)
KC and Kaaron Bay have already won their Divisions.

Also other changes to the protocol. Probably negative overall, but some elements are reasonable and vaccination is still heavily promoted.

Makes perfect sense now with omicron, especially for offensive and defensive lineman who spend the whole game breathing and panting in each other's faces. The new protocols, which take effect next week, could allow the virus to spread undetected through locker rooms, and could increase opportunities for infected but otherwise healthy players to participate in games.

Sweet. Indy almost gave up a 20-0 lead, but held on to win 27-17. Go Bills!

Re: NFL Football
What about the fans? Sure, outdoors is fairly safe, but there's also the toilets and concession stands lines. Maybe transmission is less likely for any individual than in a locker room, but we're talking tens of thousands rather than just a few dozen players and staff.

Bills stay within striking distance of the Pats . Panthers suck.
Go 1.5 point favorite @Pittsburgh 6-6-1 > Tennessee 9-4, 1st AFC South.
Pittsburgh scores 16-0 in the 2nd half on a bunch of TN TOs, win 19-13!
Also GO:
Detroit 1-11-1 > 12.5 point favorite @Arizona 10-3, 1st NFC West. Why not?
Why not indeed. 30-12 over a team that was tied for best record in the NFL.
@NY Giants 4-9 > 11.5 point favorite @Dallas 9-4, 1st NFC East.
Nope.

Re: NFL Football
Earlier, I missed that Atlanta 6-7 was playing @San Francisco 7-6, opps. I would have picked San Francisco and it did win 31-13. It's currently in Wildcard position.Vrede too wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 7:16 amTV here:

Go Baltimore 8-5, 1st AFC North > 7 point favorite @Kaaron Bay 10-3, 1st NFC North.I'm good with the daring, could be better odds than going to OT. However, it sucks that the Ravens failed again after coming back from 14 down, 30-31. Sigh. Hey Kaaron, you almost lost to a backup QB.
Also GO:
3 point favorite @Denver 7-6 > Cincinnati 7-6.
Crap. Cincinnati now leads the AFC North on a tiebreaker. At the moment Baltimore would not even be a Wildcard.

Hmmm, Minnesota is vying with Washington for the last NFC Wildcard spot. Sorry, go Vilkings!

Wow, I never would have predicted Brady getting shutout, 1st time in 15 years, even with all the Bucs injuries.

Fields certainly has flashes of brilliance, but I'm not convinced he's a good pocket passer.
Granted, he's got a crap o line and a crap ass coach to overcome also.

Five trips to the red zone, three points?
That's a new level of futility.
Clean the house!
(But I will give them this, they didn't quit. One last try for Nagy?)
