Server Migration

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Alright, LET'S DO THIS!

I'll be moving servers tonight. This could take up to 48 hours. I'm playing Scotty here so that everyone will think I'm a wiz when it's back quicker.

I'm going to put the forum in read only mode. Cya on the other side.

Alright, we're back. Holler if you notice problems. I know some of the similes are missing, and I know everyone's 'theme' was reset. If you are subscribed to any threads or forums, we may not be sending email updates yet either.

Oh yeah, and https -- secure connections will be down for a while until I re-certify.

* Smilies fixed.

* Enabled the ability to switch themes in the user control panel - if there is a theme you want back, yell.

* Prosilver theme had errors - fixed.

(Gotta tip your server a little better, Banni....)

This is what I got:

[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/common.php on line 122: require(./includes/hooks/index.php) [function.require] :failed to open stream: No such file or directory
[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/common.php on line 122: require(./includes/hooks/index.php) [function.require] :failed to open stream: No such file or directory
Go Mr. B!

Mr. Bannination, have you added Mr. B to the BRD payroll yet? Senior Quality Control Analyst?

Uhhh.....no.

That would be Vrede you're confusing me with...I only point out the flubs and error messages; it's Vrede's job to pick 'em apart and analyze them.

So after blowing up the server for a bit (hopefully no one noticed). I realized that I can't revoke my SSL cert without paying $$$.... so..... https://www.blueridgedebate.com is encrypted and safe but will present warnings you have to accept. https://blueridgedebate.com (without the www) will be encrypted without the warning.

Plan was to enforce encryption, however with this kink, it's not gonna happen for now. It looks like I'd have to buy a new cert, so not sure what I'm going to do.

Oh well, at least a type of encryption is there for those who want it. (I can't stand sending my own passwords in plain text.)

who am I to disagree?"........( :gayhappy: ? )
What? I said no such a dunnit, and I'm not touching that one! :wtf:

Hey Banni....since you faniggled with the website, it appears you've suddenly gained a host of 'members' from around the world. Some of them posted websites which are all online shopping sites for some goose in Canada; with the exception of one 'member' called ''KiffaDato"......

His website is a porn/meet a prostitute site. Thought you'd like to know; wouldn't want to ruin the reputation of this site!

Mr. B, in your position of senior quality analyst, I'd like to remind you that it's not necessary to actually visit porn and prostitute sites that any random poster puts up. It could definitely scar you for life if one of them happened to be a gay porn website.

Anyway, yes, aware of the spammers and still tuning filters. :toothy:

Ugh... off to work.

 I've been PM chatting with banni about the spammers and asked him if anyone really clicks on the links. Now we know.

"visit"? Maybe this explains why Mr.B hasn't posted here as much the last few days.
I found Mr. B!!!

What's so funny about four chefs (who's real actions have been blurred to make it appear they're doing something illicit) working in a kitchen?

Inasmuch as Banni has a web address posted in his profile, I was curious about the newbie's web addresses, like I thought maybe they were listing other forums or something to that effect....call me naïve. I never considered porn sites.

Funny thing though...in case you're interested. After I clicked out, I got an un-removable webpage informing me that my browser had been locked by the FBI for viewing, get this, child porn or for illegally downloading copyrighted music. It went on to say that I would have to pay a fine of $300, via a pre-loaded Money-Pal card to unlock my browser.

Y'all see that little green smilie with the cactuses on either side...? I sent them one of those and promptly forced a shut-down, turned my pc back on, and let AVG wash it's mouth out....clean as a whistle.
