Cool. I once saw The Allman Brothers Band (with both brothers) second billed to Goose Creek Symphony in Johnson City, TN. It was probably early or mid 1970 or so. Wish I had been able to see their shows (Allman Brothers) at the Fillmore East; these were later than the show I saw, but are even now considered to be the best live recording ever made for a rock band.

My first real rock concert must have been 71 or 72, still too young to drive.

we rode bicycles (hid em in the bushes) to frat parties at 15. most houses were good for a 1/2 hour or so before they threw you out, then to the one next door

interest.

But dental floss still isn't very cool.

myself and a few others for some non-students who wanted to see the show. They
had some good dope which we smoked during the show. There was a curfew and
everybody was hoping they would keep playing beyond it, but they didn't. Whatever.

I never realized that was Tina on the background vocals, though when you listen
now, it sounds like her. I remember listening to that song on a radio station that
usually just played Top 40 stuff, but for some reason they would play that one
every once in a while.

I didn't listen to too much Black Sabbath after the early 1970s, long before Dio
was in. Vol. 4 was the last album I bought. And then it was on to other stuff.
Those first four albums do hold up pretty well.

the rock Thin Lizzy version. As with many old folk tunes, the lyrics can vary a bit
from one version to another.

I like both versions.
Yes, those lyrics can vary. One of my favorites is the Sublime tune that uses only the first line of the Gershwin classic, "Summertime, and the livin' is easy." OK, not an old folk tune.

Charm City Devils do a great "Man of Constant Sorrow," though my mother would think it pure heresy.
