In Memoriam

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Those sound like the kind of dog trump should have.
The only dog trump should have is a rabid pit mutt with a crazed craving for cheetos.

I had a girlfriend that had a Rat Terrier, which is similar to the Jack Russell. It was a fine dog if you like the tiny ones, smart and not overly frantic or yappy.

Yeah, it looks similar, but Russells have way different characteristics. One of the best dogs we had was a Schnauzer, also a terrier, but Russells really are different. As GoCubsGo link stated, you can't train the prey instinct out of them.

I never saw her Rat Terrier around a hamster :o . I don't remember squirrels driving her nuts, either. Otoh:

One of the Russell people I knew exercised theirs by tossing the ball down a flight of stairs. Dog never got tired of bringing it back up. When it's hot out, you have to be careful they don't get overheated - they don't have sense enough to stop for rest or water and will literally run themselves into heat exhaustion.

Also, the original terrier from which Russells (and others) were bred was named "Trump."

Hell, that barn must have been part of the Kushner empire....that's an impressive number of rats to be in any one place. Sounds like a case of rats buildup. Or even some sort of Middle East peace scheme that went bad. In any case, my hat's off to the king rat killer terrier. Maybe it should be renamed the "rat terror" instead.

It not uncommon for Russells to be called "Jack Russell Terrorist" - and that's by their owners.

Really good advice there (see what I did there?).

I'm sort of fond of Labs, although they can be a handful. Never thought of a retired greyhound. Could be an option.

A elderly couple down the street is into getting rescue dogs, usually on the small side. I'm thinking the go to the pound and pick the friendly one could work well for me. We'll just have to see.

Don Rumsfeld dies. All I can say is that you die with the legacy you have; not with the legacy you wish you had.

He should have been turned over to the Iraqis for his war crimes.
