Officials in Surry County, North Carolina, voted to remove Coca-Cola machines from all government facilities in response to the beverage company CEO's remarks about Georgia's controversial new voting law.
The ban passed during a Board of Commissioners meeting on May 17 with a 3-2 vote as a direct response to Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey's comments calling the voting law "unacceptable" and "a step backwards."
Commissioner Ed Harris provided "TODAY" Digital with the copy of a letter he sent Quincey, calling out the company's "corporate political commentary favoring the Democratic party" and announcing the decision to remove Coca-Cola machines from government facilities....

Well, while I'm certain the "guy who was responsible" didn't consider the ban as such, this mostly likely is in the best interest of public health.

Let me begin by saying that my remarks are addressed solely towards the 3 Commissioners, including Harris, that voted for the Coca-Cola ban, not towards the wiser minority. This article only IDed where Harris stands.

They’ve made Surry County a national laughingstock, an object of scorn and pity;
They’re too stupid to see the hypocrisy in whining about “out-of-control cancel culture” when in fact the Trumpette loser GA Repugs are desperately canceling legit voters, and the Surry County majority just canceled Coca-Cola;

State Democrats objected to Senate Bill 7, legislation that would severely suppress the vote in Texas by limiting voting hours, eliminating 24-hour polling stations and setting restrictions on access to mail-in voting.
The Texas Tribune also points out that the constitutionality of Abbott’s unprecedented veto has come into question and was condemned by the House Democratic Caucus Chair Chris Turner of Grand Prairie, who called the action an “abuse of power.”
“Texas has a governor, not a dictator,” Turner said in a statement. “The tyrannical veto of the legislative branch is the latest indication that [Abbott] is simply out of control.”
Texas legislators make $600 per month plus a $221 per diem each day the legislature is in session.
