Well played. To be fair, though, the cell phones that the South (as it turns out) Carolina catfishing cons used were probably smuggled in by guards.

I've talked about the looting before, but haven't been able to find links recently.

As for the fatties, they did decide a few years back that the new deputies can't get as far as the current ones.

I see fat cops all over, but I don't know why. The cities I've done work for in the past all had annual physical tests and some requirements that would keep the cops from totally living up to the "pig" name. And the Florida police academies all have standards that require a fairly substantial level of fitness. But we still have obese cops. Do the counties not require physical standards after a guy is hired? Do they have some smoke and mirror exemptions or something to delay physical testing basically forever? Do they really think Jackie Gleason was a good model for cops?

Fire the manager

Agreed.

and everyone who sat by and watched while a PoS beat on their co-worker.

She was doing the beating  (see article below).

Arrest the customer

Done. "Online Pinellas County arrest records show the 5' 8," 135-pound Taylor was charged with the two counts of 1st degree simple battery for initiating the physical encounter that quickly backfired as he received around a dozen furious blows to the face as she defended herself."
:---P

and the manager (for pulling the woman).

I'm pretty sure that was just a different employee. When he utterly failed at restraining the tiger, he switched strategies and got the white attacker to back off.

Someone step up and give the woman a decent job.
I couldn't find a petition supporting her, but did find this:
Man Attacks Black Female McDonald’s Worker, Receives Large Surprise Order of ‘That Smoke’

A viral Facebook video of a man physically assaulting a Florida Mcdonald’s employee had a happy ending when the man was arrested, after the woman generously decided to give her attacker a lifetime supply of Filet-o’-Fist sandwiches....

The video doesn’t show if this particular McDonald’s has been serving Avengers-themed Happy Meals, because instead of cowering, Yasmine, ever the industrious young worker, decides to boost the restaurant’s hygiene rating by wiping the counter clean with the man’s spotless, balding forehead as if she had secretly gathered all of the Infinity Stones in her apron pocket....

“I want her ass fired right now,” Taylor says after another employee pulled the man away.

“No, you’re finna go to jail,” yells James, the future UFC flyweight champion. “You put your hands on me first!”

“I couldn’t control you,” replies the straw man, obviously still thirsty for a large cup of deez hands. “I was just asking you a question, bitch!”

The video ends as Taylor asks for a refund, even though he had just consumed a healthy serving of multiple two-piece combos. Besides drinking a can of whoop-ass, Taylor may have been under the influence of alcohol, according to the police report. Taylor was arrested a few hours later and charged with two counts of simple battery.

The second charge comes from witness statements and video evidence that allege Taylor, who is listed as being transient, kicked another female employee, Tateona Bell, as he was leaving.

“The victim was kicked in the stomach by the defendant and was complaining of pain,” the police report stated. “The defendant was a customer at McDonald’s, and the victim is an employee. The defendant was being escorted out of the business by management due to him battering another employee, and causing a disturbance.”

The police did not say if Yasmine James was being investigated for performing dentistry without a license, animal cruelty, or impersonation of a police officer. They also would not say if James received a citation for littering after they saw the video of her unapologetically dropping “dem thangs.” Rumors that James was promoted to a management position handling all the restaurant’s beef cannot be confirmed.

But next week, James will return to Wakanda as the keynote speaker at her alma mater, the Dora Milaje School for Wishing a Motherfucker Would.

The Dora Milaje are fictional characters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. They are a team of women who serve as special forces for the fictional African nation of Wakanda.

When arrested - don't eat the police car seat - there just ain't no upside to eating car seats. It's a classic lose/list situation.

OK, so they were dumb to lie in the road. Past that, though, they couldn't see headlights coming at them at 5mph? And the cop at 5mph couldn't see two large mounds in the road, whether idiots watching the moon or a couple of alligators or fallen tree limbs? Whole thing seems wonky.

It's Florida, maybe too many trees to see the moon anywhere besides the road?

At that speed and with a full moon the cop may have had his headlights off in order to sneak up on park abusers. Then, it is still weird that both got run over. It was 15 minutes before the eclipse even began - maybe it was only one large mound in the road. :o ;)

Nope. Shoulda been able to see that moon from any yard, driveway, or parking space. Straight overhead. And large. And really pretty, but not worth getting run over for. I'm thinking the cop was looking at the moon too, instead of the road.

Don't know about the cop, but:
A statement given to the Palm Beach Post by police said that the two were run over after choosing to lie in the park because it was “extremely dark”.
My point is that having chosen the park, the road might have afforded the better view, though a parking space would have probably been a superior choice. Anyhow, I've got no stake in excusing anyone, just IDing factors that MIGHT have contributed.

DeSantis did give the guy the Secretary of State job, and it's reasonable to think that as racist campaign as DeSantis ran, it's predictable that he'd appoint similar sorts. But to his credit, DeSantis didn't try to defend Ertel, make excuses, or anything other than closing the door on his sorry ass.

billy.pilgrim’s US Rep., Matt Gaetz:

Florida Republican who tried to abolish EPA says toxic algae crisis is 'horrifying'
He is horrifying. Promoted people bringing guns to a town hall in case ...?

Also, (I like repeating this) when caught driving drunk, he threatened the cop, telling him that his dad was a state senator and would have the cop's job. He also refused the breath test, which, in Florida, is mandatory loss of license for a year.
All charges dropped.

Closer to home for you:
(Pensacola, FL) Antique store stands by KKK figurine: 'I'm sorry if you're offended, but we feel it's a part of history'

Image

... The manager, Melissa Hollis, told Boussarhane that the store offers historical artifacts to people that its staff believe are not racist. She cited as an example that she once declined to sell an authentic KKK robe to a customer who wanted to leave racist propaganda in the store. “He wanted to pass out KKK literature and pamphlets, he told us that. We backed out. It didn’t matter how much money he was willing to give us. His money didn’t mean that much to us,” Hollis told the Pensacola News Journal.

Explaining how she evaluates her customers, “I’m not gonna interview them, but if it comes across that they’re a hateful person I’m not going to sell it to them,” Hollis told the newspaper....
:confusion-scratchheadblue: The whole point of the robe and hood is keeping one's racism anonymous.
Boussarhane tells Yahoo Lifestyle that after speaking to Hollis, she left the store. However, she took photos of other items — framed images of a black boy depicted as a monkey, a man wearing blackface, and a vintage toothpaste ad that read, “Darkie toothpaste. Gets teeth their whitest!”

... Hollis and the owner of the store, Billy Boyette (whose Facebook profile picture shows a man waving a Confederate flag), are reportedly selling the KKK figurine for a third-party vendor with the store and collecting a percentage of the profit....

In October, Boyette had a mural of the serial killer Ted Bundy — who was arrested in the town on the same block in 1978 — painted outside the store, which ignited controversy....
Coincidentally, billy.pilgrim, the store is named Uncle Billy’s Antique Mall. :D
