Bengals acquire QB Joe Flacco in trade with rival Browns

... Cincinnati also received a 2026 sixth-round draft pick while Cleveland landed a fifth-round pick in the trade, which was announced Tuesday.

Flacco, a recent NFL starter, went cheap. Embarrassing, he'll have extra incentive when playing the Browns.

... The Browns brought back Flacco this past offseason to provide veteran leadership to a crowded quarterback room that also included rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. The 18-year veteran started Cleveland's first four games this season before being replaced by Gabriel in Sunday's loss to the Vikings.

Flacco's departure from Cleveland could open the door for Sanders to be elevated to the No. 2 quarterback spot behind Gabriel. Sanders has been Cleveland's emergency third-string quarterback for the first five games of the season.

The Browns listed Sanders as their No. 2 quarterback on Tuesday's unofficial depth chart for their upcoming game against Pittsburgh....

Not wishing injury on Gabriel, but I hope Sanders gets a shot sometime.

Sources: Cardinals fining Jonathan Gannon for sideline spat

The Arizona Cardinals are fining coach Jonathan Gannon $100,000 for his sideline altercation Sunday with running back Emari Demercado, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday.

Demercado dropped the football before crossing the goal line in the fourth quarter of the loss to the Tennessee Titans on what would have been a 72-yard touchdown run....

That's a lot for ranting at a bonehead player.
