It's a shame about the non-involved public health implications, but I otherwise support the DeSantis plan to kill off WWF participants and fans.

Shirley there aren't any fans involved?

I'm against all contact sports right now but am in favor of anything to break the monotony.
If snl can do it, the NBA should too. Even the WWEweewees could do their choreographed moves on rings over 10 feet apart, but no slobbering on each other.

 You may be correct, but I think that WWF without an arena full of yelling, bloodthirsty, drunk fans will be weird, kind of like SNL fell flat for me.

Both should use remote fan locations. I don't see why it wouldn't work. SNL would be easier than wwe, but they could do something non contact. Be creative and open up some sports or games that can comply with social distancing, but we really don't need wwe fake rasslers hugging and slobbering on each other.

I think it would be a good idea to make sure all WWE spectators be required to be in possession of a handgun at all events. Maybe two handguns.

Looks like the DeSantis scheme has already flopped.
WWE Furloughs Staff, Cuts Executive Pay to Weather Coronavirus

Despite given clearance resume live shows in Florida, the WWE said on Wednesday it will furlough staff and cut executive pay in an attempt to weather the economic storm brought on by the coronavirus pandemic....

WWE was named an “essential business” in Florida last week despite a statewide stay-at-home order enacted earlier this month in response to the coronavirus pandemic. This reclassification allows the company to resume shooting live shows, sans a live audience, out of its Orlando training facility and Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida....

The computer will tell us when we've been hit or afflicted or otherwise fucked up and instruct us to kill our own bad selves. Fuck that shit; sounds like just another religion to me.

Opps. Maybe Linda McMahon will want her DeSantis "political donation" back - yeah, the one she gave the day before he declared her show to be "essential."

I know DeSantis allegedly graduated Harvard Law and all, but just how stupid do you have to be to know you're the frikkin' Governor who is on live TV and (1) put on just one rubber glove and scratch your nose with that hand; and (2) put on a face mask sideways and keep talking through it with the unused strap hanging down. Yes, no shit...

Is that a vent at the bottom or does he have it on upside down?

Most have something at the top - a plastic or metal strip to bend around your nose and some have a vent in front.

Still, both straps are required. Maybe he should have skipped the less than photogenic N-95 for putting his head and a microphone in a plastic bag.

It's not "sideways", O Really. Those are longer head bands rather than ear bands. billy.pilgrim's probably correct that it's upside down, though. You can see the metal strip that crimps around the nose in these pics. It's possible that it's a manufacturer's imprint, but I very much doubt it. This tells me that he's only using the mask for show at the presser. Otherwise, someone would have told him that he's doing it wrong.

Fine. What do I know from face masks? But clearly it's not on correctly and continues his time in the spotlight of ridicule.

Even worse:

TV news says that FL is the worst or among the worst for processing UE claims, only 8% so far. Someone in the DeSantis (R) admin, I missed who, blamed the Rick Scott (R) admin for a "system designed to fail."

That's true, actually. Not that DeSantis wouldn't have done it if he'd had the chance, but Sleazy Scott beat him to it. The idea was to make the system work slowly, cut down eligibility and benefits, and make it more difficult to file claims. Not good, but it sorta worked with a 2% unemployment rate. Now, not so much.

I didn't doubt it. Still, it's crazy for a Repug Gov's admin* to trash a Repug Senator. Florida, you stay "special".

Yes, but he didn't have much choice. Unemployment claims are a train wreck and DeSantis had to either (a) take responsibility for it; or (b) throw Scott under the bus. No real surprise which he would do.

Can't blame fraudster scott for this one, it's been almost impossible to get unemployment benefits in Florida since Jeb. Scott tried to add drug testing to make it even worse but he failed.
