It truly boggles the mind to see GOP politicians who are allegedly intelligent falling over themselves and making fools of themselves in an effort to suck up to a raccoon eyed juvenile minded idiot and pathological liar. It's almost like mass hysteria. No, wait, it is.

Hey Honey, let's take our new-to-us motorhome from Florida to the North Carolina mountains in the winter after an ice/snow storm. What could possibly go wrong?

... The Mays, who got married May 28, 2020, couldn’t wait to take their first trip together in the RV to see snow....
As soon as the Mays’ RV was running again — and he backed it up about a mile to get off the road — the couple immediately headed back to South Florida.
They now plan to honeymoon in Key West.

Not animosity. "Florida man" has become a popular source of humour because of so many news-ish articles starting out with "A Florida man... (did something weird)" People do weird stuff other places too, but the "Florida man" articles seem to be more plentiful. Florida has a population of 21 million or so, most of whom moved there from somewhere else for all sorts of reasons. It's widely diverse in people, culture, economic status, and politics, and any given two places can be as different as night and day. As such, there are going to be a lot of ummmm "interesting" people whose exploits make entertaining reading.

I don't know that the article said exactly when that was, but it was clearly winter. If they left the mountains and went to Key West without a reservation for the $100+ per night RV spots, then their mis-adventures will certainly continue.

Florida family accused of selling thousands of bottles of bleach marketed as Covid cure
... The man, Mark Grenon, and his sons, Jonathan, Jordan and Joseph Grenon, were accused of fraud and violating civil court orders instructing them to stop selling the fake cure, which they promoted as "Miracle Mineral Solution," or MMS, according to documents filed Friday in Florida's southern district....
Court documents filed in the civil case allege that on a podcast released last year, co-host Mark Grenon referred to the 2nd Amendment and threatened a federal judge over a court order halting the sale of MMS, saying she was committing "treason."
"Do they want a Waco?" he is alleged to have said, referring to the 1993 siege in Texas that left 76 people dead.

People are stupid.According to court documents, the family manufactured the solution in a backyard shed in Bradenton, about 45 miles south of Tampa. Through what the documents describe as an "avowedly" nonreligious church called Genesis II Church of Health and Healing, the solution was marketed and sold as a cure-all for cancer, autism, diabetes and other disorders and diseases, according to the documents.
The documents say the family had a massive jump in revenue — from an average of $32,000 a month to $123,000 — after they began marketing the solution as a Covid-19 cure in March 2020.
The family has sold more than 28,000 bottles, earning more than $1 million, the documents say.
During a raid on the Bradenton property, authorities discovered dozens of chemical drums, 10,000 pounds of sodium nitrate and thousands of bottles of the solution, the U.S. attorney's office for southern Florida said in a news release....

Florida Man Indicted For Attacking Officer With Skateboard During U.S. Capitol Riot
I guess I'll go with the flow.A federal grand jury in Washington indicted a Florida man for taking his skateboard to the head of a Metropolitan Police officer during the U.S. Capitol insurrection Jan. 6.
Grady Douglas Owens, 21, was initially arrested on April 1 in Florida. He faces several charges including assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers or employees; obstruction; and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
Owens was captured on body camera footage using a skateboard to assault an unnamed Metropolitan Police officer, referred to as "C.B." outside of the Capitol building, according to prosecutors. The attack caused a concussion and finger injury to the police officer.
Prosecutors have indicated in court records that approximately 81 members of the Capitol Police and 58 members of the Metropolitan Police Department were assaulted during the attack on the Capitol.

A Florida school bars vaccinated teachers from seeing students
Is there any limit to the anti-vaxxer insanity?
Is there any limit to the anti-vaxxer insanity?
A Miami school has discouraged teachers from getting the Covid vaccine, saying any vaccinated employees will be barred from interacting with students. Centner Academy leadership cited debunked claims of non-vaccinated people being "negatively impacted" by contact with vaccinated people. Experts say there is no evidence for such theories. US health officials have said the jabs are safe and effective. Some 141 million Americans have received the Covid-19 vaccine to date.
The Centner Academy, a fee-paying school, is located in Miami's Design District. Annual tuition begins at $15,160 (£10,898) for pre-school students and goes up to nearly $30,000 for middle school students, who are around 13-15 years old. Co-founder Leila Centner informed parents on Monday that, when possible, the academy's policy is to not employ anyone who has received a Covid-19 vaccine at this time, CBS Miami reported.
In a letter last week to staff, first reported by the New York Times, Mrs Centner said teachers must notify the school if they had already received the jab. "We cannot allow recently vaccinated people to be near our students until more information is known," Mrs Centner wrote.
Teachers who wait to get vaccinated after the school year ends will be allowed to return only when clinical trials on the vaccine are completed, assuming a position at the school is still available. Mrs Centner also repeated a false claim of vaccinated individuals affecting unvaccinated people, saying three women in the school's community had their menstrual cycles "impacted after having spent time with a vaccinated person". There is no scientific evidence for these claims. None of the coronavirus vaccines approved for emergency in the US have been linked to infertility, miscarriages or any other negative changes to women's reproductive health.

‘Insane and dangerous’: Inside the Miami school that told teachers not to get vaccinated

Maybe. The first link speculates that Centner Academy is violating the ADA.Miami senator tried to bar schools from banning vaccinated teachers. That failed.
A Miami state senator on Thursday tried to emulate the “vaccine passport” initiative but in reverse, sponsoring a proposal to prevent schools and businesses from requiring people to not get the COVID-19 vaccine.
Sen. Jason Pizzo, D-Miami, filed an amendment after he said state education officials told him Centner Academy did not violate any policy or law when it informed parents of its anti-vaccination policy for teachers and staff and spread misinformation to children about the potential risks of vaccination.
Sounds like the 19 'Nays' were all RepuQs.“So right now, this is it. My district is counting on us to push back against this quackery,” Pizzo said.
The amendment failed on a 19-19 vote, keeping the proposal off the underlying bill, which includes a ban on “vaccine passports” sought by Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Senate Health Policy Chairman Sen. Manny Diaz Jr., R-Hialeah, and Sen. Jennifer Bradley, R-Fleming Island, did not vote, though they were in the Capitol on Thursday. Three Republicans — Sen. Jeff Brandes, of St. Petersburg, Senate Education Committee Chairman Joe Gruters, of Sarasota, and Sen. George Gainer, of Panama City — joined Democrats in favor of the amendment.

... The bill is now on its way back to the House without Pizzo’s proposed language. If it becomes law, businesses, schools and government entities across Florida will be barred from asking anyone to provide proof of a COVID-19 vaccination.
“In Florida, you can get fired for protecting your health. That’s the message my Republican colleagues sent when they failed to protect everyday Floridians from being discriminated against or fired for following CDC guidance and getting a COVID vaccine,” Pizzo said in a statement shortly after the Senate voted down his amendment.
He added: “I fought for children in my community who have been told not to hug their parents if they’ve been vaccinated, and for their teachers whose livelihoods have been threatened if they choose to get a shot for their own health and for the health of our state.”

Opps.Florida student accused of rigging homecoming queen vote could face 16-year sentence
... Emily Grover and her mother Laura Carroll, assistant principal at Bellview Elementary School, were arrested in March after authorities said the duo used Carroll's special access to the district's student data system to cast hundreds of fraudulent votes for Grover in the homecoming queen election at Tate High School....
They are each charged with:
* Offenses against users of computers, computer systems, computer networks and electronic devices (third-degree felony)
* Unlawful use of a two-way communications device (third-degree felony)
* Criminal use of personally identifiable information (third-degree felony)
* Conspiracy to commit these offenses (first-degree misdemeanor)
... Grover was ultimately expelled from Tate High School, according to her arrest warrant. Carroll was suspended from her position after her arrest. School officials have declined to say if they have since terminated Carroll, citing the ongoing court case.
