Or something else.
Trump cut short his weekend at Camp David to return to the White House tonight citing the potential for significant escalation, Netanyahu cut short his US trip to return to Israel the same day, and every US embassy in the Middle East has issued a security alert in the past hours.

GOP Senate Candidates Have Been Fundraising For Gas Money
Dan Sullivan (AK), Susan Collins (ME), and Mike Collins (GA) voted for a war which spiked gas prices and are now asking their constituents to pay for gas for them to campaign

Key Points
* Republican candidates Dan Sullivan, Susan Collins, and Mike Collins solicited donations for campaign fuel and travel.
* Their fundraising appeals have been linked to support for policies associated with rising gas prices.
* Constituents face higher fuel costs while candidates ask small-dollar donors to finance campaigning.

From his lips . . . ?
GOP senator said gas prices would decide the midterms. Now they’re threatening his reelection

Republican Sen. Roger Marshall of Kansas boldly declared in July that "the midterms will be decided by the price of gasoline in October."

That prediction now looks strikingly prescient — though not in the way Marshall may have hoped: October has arrived with gasoline prices sharply higher, and Republican candidates across the country facing surprisingly competitive races.

Since the war in Iran began in late February, the average price of gasoline in the US has risen by about 46%, driven largely by disruptions to global oil markets caused by the war that many Republicans, Marshall included, have consistently defended.
:---P
... Senate Leadership Fund, one of the main Republican groups supporting Senate candidates, has booked nearly $10 million worth of ads in Kansas, according to AdImpact.

That last-minute investment underscores how Marshall's unequivocal support for the war — including his insistence that its economic costs were worth bearing — has become a real liability in a state that hasn't elected a Democrat to the Senate since 1932.

... Rising diesel prices are particularly consequential for Kansas farmers, who rely on that fuel to operate tractors and trucks during the fall harvest and winter wheat planting season. The increased costs come as farmers are already grappling with higher fertilizer expenses and tight operating margins.

... "If this theocracy in Iran continues, and they develop a nuclear weapon and they control the strait, diesel fuel is going to go up to $15 a gallon and your fertilizers go up another 50% as well," Marshall said on RFD-TV, a channel dedicated to rural issues.
If they control the strait? If? :problem:
... The following month, Marshall pointed to the Trump administration's new memorandum of understanding with Iran as evidence that both the war and its economic consequences were easing.

... The agreement quickly unraveled. By early July, negotiations had stalled, fighting had resumed and President Donald Trump declared the memorandum of understanding "over."
Opps.
... Last week, the Cook Political Report shifted the Kansas Senate race from "Lean Republican" to "Toss Up." ...
:---P :---P :---P
If Kansas flips, the nation and Senate flip.

Last night I was watching BBC World News America and there was a story about the Saudi attack on the Yemen airport. There was a video of a guy in a hospital bed and the fucker was a dead ringer for Kash Patel....same face, same beard, same haircut. I couldn't believe it. I considered it a good omen, especially since none of the BBC commentators mentioned the resemblance.

Fingers crossed.

North Carolina has lowest gas prices in the country: What are they in Asheville?

Many drivers across North Carolina are seeing some relief at the pump, less than two weeks after state lawmakers passed a temporary state gas tax holiday. In Asheville, that trend continues.
 We'll pay for this with poorer roads and other state services.
As of Monday, Oct. 19, the average price of gasoline per gallon in North Carolina is $3.57 – the cheapest of all 50 states. This is 26 cents cheaper than last week and 56 cents cheaper than last month.

Gasoline in the Asheville metro area – which includes Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson and Madison counties – is averaging $3.69 as of Monday, according to GasBuddy's fuel insights. That is 45 cents cheaper than last month's average and 25 cents cheaper than last week's average.
$3.59 for me yesterday.
Still, gas prices in the Asheville area are approximately 89 cents higher than this time last year.
Thanks MAGA.
... The drop in gas prices in North Carolina was brought about by House Bill 3, which Gov. Josh Stein signed into law on Friday, Oct. 9. The bill, also called the "Relief at the Pump Act," temporarily suspends the state's 41-cent-per-gallon motor fuel tax. State lawmakers proposed the bill to reduce costs for drivers.
In other words I should have paid $4. :x

Pentagon orders bases to plan for 90 days without the grid as Britain urges families to stockpile food and water

:o Will today's election in Israel and our Midterms affect the War of Choice plans?
A $3.8 Billion Supersonic U.S. Fleet Was Almost Wiped Out By a Glorified Child’s Toy

... In early October, the USAF had to quickly evacuate a contingent of 12 B-1s from an English airbase when the Pentagon suspected they were vulnerable to an attack modeled on Ukraine's Operation Spider's Web.

The Air Force moved so fast that there wasn't even time to pull together a refueling plan, according to a Carnegie Endowment for International Peace commentary by Steven Feldstein. The aircraft represent "one-quarter of Washington's B-1 arsenal"— an estimated $3.8 billion in hardware. The concern was that these supersonic bombers were acutely vulnerable to a threat parked just outside the fence: unmarked vans.

Specifically, unmarked vans filled with drones, parked within range of the airfield, armed and ready to reign havoc down on not just the highly valuable bombers, but also the hundreds of airmen and other personnel stationed at the base. The Pentagon's intel indicated that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran was behind this specific drone attack plan, as part of the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran....

We can dream. Iran is doing its part:
Iran targeted US air defenses then hit aircraft and buildings on Mideast bases, AP analysis finds

Iran's strikes on more than two dozen U.S. bases in the Middle East focused on early-warning systems before hitting aircraft and buildings, causing billions of dollars in equipment damage, according to an Associated Press analysis.

The AP independently verified damage to American targets using satellite imagery from multiple providers and spoke to four regional officials who were briefed or have firsthand knowledge of what was hit. The AP found that, through August, more than 115 drone or missile strikes claimed by Iran or Iranian-backed militias damaged or destroyed structures on 26 military bases and other sites with U.S. equipment.

The AP found that Iran initially focused its attacks on aircraft hangars and systems that detect incoming strikes, clearing the way for further strikes on warehouses, troop housing and more.

The damage has significantly reshaped the American foothold in the Middle East, with two regional officials saying the U.S. has moved many of its assets out of the Persian Gulf. That includes aircraft, air defense systems, communications systems and other equipment crucial to base operations, one of those officials said.
Opps.
... It found that from April 1 to June 30, Iranian strikes had damaged and destroyed hundreds of buildings and other structures on U.S. bases.

Such assessments provide the only overall snapshot because the Trump administration and the U.S. military have provided few details about the toll of the conflict on people and equipment, even putting measures in place to impede outside review, such as delays in the release of satellite images.

U.S. Central Command, which oversees operations in the Middle East, has refused to comment on or specify damage to bases or equipment, usually citing the need for operational security. The command did not comment for this story.
Cowards cover up. :x
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell asserted that U.S. "forces and bases are well protected and America's military is stronger than ever."

"Our service members in CENTCOM have everything they need to continue their historic success ensuring Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon," Parnell said in a statement to the AP.
Cowards LIE.
... While strikes were much heavier against Iran, American matériel losses were inevitable, said Raphael Cohen, director of the National Security Program at the RAND School of Public Policy. The way wars are fought today makes all militaries "susceptible to large-scale, cheap drone attacks," he said.
Dementia Don and Jagoff learned nothing from the Ukraine War, even as Iran was supplying Russia with these same drones.
... Another radar in Qatar was damaged significantly, but it is unclear if it was destroyed. Purchased by the Gulf country in a 2013 deal valued at $1.1 billion, it appears to have been the only one in the region.

.. . An Iranian strike on Prince Sultan Air Base in March damaged the back half of a Boeing E-3 Sentry surveillance aircraft and another hit a CIA unit at the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh....
Good aim!

Losing. :x More failure in the works, largely courtesy of NuttyYahoo:

Tucker Carlson recently posted a claim that he has info that the Trump admin is planning on using a nuclear bunker-busting bomb on Iran.

Likely completely made up, but what if? If this does indeed happen then we'll have opened Pandora's box. No nuclear weapons have been used since World War 2.
