I believe God is; always has been; and always will be. I believe He created all that is. I believe I was not put here to figure out how He did it.
I see no reason that I should prove the above. Faith alone is enough for me especially since faith is not provable. One either accepts faith in God or not.

A good way to look at it Tertius, seeing that you are surrounded by fools like AlanS/Crock...goatboy etc.....But you do have to have pity on those fools, because they deny faith simply out of fear of the unknown.
No..it's not that you're not going to.. it's that you can't.. .
No, he could debate it with you, if it were not against his religion to do so. Arguing with a fool is warned against in the Bible.
There are approximately 41,000 Christian denominations, all disagreeing on what it means to be a Christian. If blackfoot is to be believed, then perhaps it's because followers are not allowed to talk amongst themselves.

If anything, faith is where people retreat to because of a fear of the unknown. They invent angels and demons ruled by an invisible friend to explain everything from illnesses to the movement of the planets.
It's those without a fear of the unknown who, rather than fearing the unknown, study it and seek explanations based on testing the evidence. They're the ones who invent metallurgy and medicine and radio and space probes.

How true.. Religion has done more to retard the advancement of human knowledge than any other mechanism.. One only needs to examine any society to see that the more religious it is ..the more backward it is...
The 46% referenced in the topic title are desperate to transform our nation into a third world theocracy modeled after those of the other Abrahamic religions... .

No, you're the frightened one. Why else would you attack and argue against something you claim you don't even believe to exist?
Not many sane people attack the tooth fairy if they don't believe in it, but yet you and the other buffoons keep coming back to eat your own crap. Odd, but fun to watch.

I guess I'm one of those who attacked the tooth fairy. I told my kid it was a superstition and he was smart enough to understand.
you still haven't explained why you get to break the sky fairy's law about arguing with those you label as fools
just more blackie hypocrisy

I should have heeded that foreboding feeling I had about welcoming you back!
Just as you all are entitled to your disbeliefs, we believers are entitled to what we believe.
If we're wrong, oh well.
If we're right, oh hell!
It's nice to know, though, that we have all you brilliant minds out there who's got this all figured out, and it's your obligation to set us straight. We'll keep you in our files for future references.
almost appears that you don't believe he should offer his opinion that religion has held back science, it spite of evidence to the contrary, but then, maybe the sun does rotate around your earth
