Death penalty for seeking work

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

My guess - there will be a couple of harumphs, a bunch of excuses about what the trooper "reasonably" thought (like a covered truck bed could only be used to cover drugs, or the lighter looked like a gun), a big show of "investigation" by some unspecified agency that won't release its findings, and eventually a barely noticeable lump under the carpet.

An expert on police chases said the decision to fire on the truck was "a reckless act" that served "no legitimate law enforcement purpose."
"An expert on police chases......." :-||

Another expert once said "shit happens"; they've even made a fortune in bumper stickers that say so.

So that elevated him from "professor" to "expert" status. Got it.
Of course, that's like watching the Weather Channel and listening of course, to those "hurricane experts" at the "Expert Desk". (italicized phrase is current favored expression being used at TWC)

I wasn't attempting to debunk your post, nor ridicule the fact that two were killed in a moment of idiocy.

I was making light of the "expert" handle and the way this: An expert on police chases said the decision to fire on the truck was "a reckless act" that served "no legitimate law enforcement purpose." was written; i.e. it took an expert to determine that firing from a helicopter served no legitimate law enforcement purpose. That crack, to me, was funny.

Someone wanted their name in the news.

The southern border is very dangerous. It is tragic when the innocent die. But, if you are coming into this country illegally you are not totally innocent. It is not obvious who is smuggling drugs and who is smuggling people. One cannot justify unnecessarily taking a life but on that border but I will not second guess those doing that job.

When someone is shot to death you should second guess. Even if the facts once brought to light show that the shooting was justified, you would not have been out of line to second guess.

When an unarmed person - with no sign that they were placing anyone in danger - is shot to death from a helicopter, only the worst moral coward says "I will not second guess."

But then unlike you I'm a conservative. I don't believe that the rules should be changed to allow the death penalty for illegally crossing the border.

Not like the conservatives here; If you're a conservative, I damn well don't want to meet a Canadian liberal! :-H

Granted I may have a non-conservative position or two, just as most of the Republican candidates in the primaries took some wildly non-conservative positions. (These days, "conservative" and "Republican" are not even remotely the same thing.)

What is it that makes you think I'm not conservative?
