socks

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

socks

Unread post by billy.pilgrim »

There has been a lot of sock puppet discussion around seth/bb scattered throughout different topics.
Always hard to tell for sure, but sometimes a slip proves the point. While I've tried to link all of my new names to former names (all have some connection to KV) I did create a sock in the old free Greenville Gannett site for the purpose of exposing whoever used the jknowgood sock for his more vile comments - no one could actually be as ignorant as jk. Turned out jk was our former friend here - Partisan 62 or some such number - he lost track of who he was one day. Barring such an outright mistake, words and phrases are often the key.

The puppet can be useful - just ask Pocket.

Early on I felt sure that Seth was bb, but not so sure now - maybe it just took time for him to become familiar with his new character, but bb was so full of hate and ignorance and would get his panties in a wad over most anything, while seth (to me) seems more intelligent and more open to information on some things. Maybe I just like the name seth better than Mr b.

The timing of the seth bb transformation screams sock, but maybe bb knew him on another board and asked him to take over.

Maybe bb was the sock and seth is closer to the real person - I rarely read anything bb posted but disagreed with everything he posted, but generally I read seth before I disagree.

I don't understand why anyone would change their anonymous character unless their character was nothing more than a troll, or they got banned.

The Greenville site banned my KilgoreTrout character after complaints from some un-read Greenville politician named Trout who thought I was attacking him.

All that said, I wish we had a few more of the cons here. They do often provide entertainment value.

Come backs to:
Hugh - draft evader who claims he tried to go to nam, but the army needed him in germany
Supersuckersalesman - world class moron
the fox guy who changed his name all the time and claims us money has always said In god We Trust
and partisan aka jknowgood (not really)

jk is likely our homerfobe character - if not they are definitely lovers

In general conservatives will just not hang on out a forum that they can't ban those that they disagree with. Sad, but true. I watch conservative political forum on occasion for the entertainment, but honestly don't even find that very entertaining when you can't point out obvious lies and bullshit.

Anyway, the best way to get other people to join is to post about this forum in other places everyone posts to -- maybe news sites with bad forums, other forums if it's within their rules, etc. If it doesn't lead to new posters directly it will increase search rankings so that it's more likely found when searching for a political type forum.

Personally I enjoy the smallishness of this forum. Your voice actually means something instead of being lost in a sea of posters, and you get to figure out people's personality traits.

On an off note, one of the top searches that brings people here is still "Is Tammy Watford a lesbian?" https://www.facebook.com/TammyWatfordWLOS/ -- people are weird.

Funny as hell.

I just looked up the asshole who got me banned for using the name Trout.

The moron appears to have been convicted of tampering with a grand jury. That oughta teach him not to mess with Kilgore.

Well, sure. Mr.B was posting as a devout Christian, but it was obvious that he knew nothing about Christianity, its history or what it stood for even at its best.

On the other hand there's room for suspicion that "Seth Milner" isn't even the same person every time.

You can disprove a his claims on gun crime with facts, figures and charts from impeccable sources, and the "Seth Milner" that posts a few days later will repeat the same claim, apparently with no knowledge whatsoever of his previous posting history.

This week he gets proven wrong on his claim that "gun-free zone" pictures weren't taken at CPAC. He gets proven wrong on his claim that America's torture practices don't include things like slicing people's testicles with scalpels. And so he disappears for a day or two, and returns with apparently no memory whatsoever of the conversation.

It's as though every time a Huckabee/Palin/Trump drone gets proven wrong a voice expresses displeasure, a trap door opens beneath their feet, and another drone takes their place.

I also like the smallishness of this forum, but feel that we have lost the type of posters like fiddler aka crockhunter who take the time to counter the cons with intelligence posts - so unlike my name childish calling.
Fiddler can be found at libertynewsforum, but hasn't been here for a llng time.

Also, where is our resident bammer lately?

I'll have to say this is a complete shock to read; but thanks for the "constructive" criticism . . .!

This subject was brought up once or twice before, and I'm still not Mr.B. In reading many of his previous posts, my impression of him was not that as you describe, i.e. full of hate and ignorance, rather he came across to me as one that, in clinging to his religious beliefs, he also tried blending in with those who would have no part of his beliefs . . . that, I felt, made him bitter and overbearing when he attempted to explain why he believed what he did. I don't think he was a bad person, just one clinging to his beliefs that everyone would ridicule. Like Vrede too, he could dish it out, but he couldn't take it; and that created a clashing personality between himself and Vrede too.

(also this: If anything Mr.B was going to quote had curse words contained in it, he would not quote the curse words)

The timing of the seth bb transformation screams sock, but maybe bb knew him on another board and asked him to take over.
Prior to my arrival here, no, I did not know, or know of Mr.B. I know only what I read and a couple of pm's from him telling me what to expect if I lingered here. He didn't lie.

Maybe bb was the sock and seth is closer to the real person - I rarely read anything bb posted but disagreed with everything he posted, but generally I read seth before I disagree.
Thank you! I appreciate your honesty, however, I was very wary of you in the beginning, until I discovered that you are one that speaks your mind and moves on; unlike a few more here that aren't satisfied until the one they're castigating has been thoroughly trounced and tossed onto the heap. That one, in this case, currently is me, because it appears there are no other total-non-liberals. I consider myself a bit of both, liberal and conservative, with no preference for either.

I don't understand why anyone would change their anonymous character unless their character was nothing more than a troll, or they got banned.

All that said, I wish we had a few more of the cons here. They do often provide entertainment value.
Going back to Mr.B: it appears he held out here longer than any other con. I haven't a clue as to Vrede too's previous posts, but I have read posts prior to his being shunned by Vrede too's friends for discovering his identity. The vacated cons seem to have had their fill of being put down, and left with no fan-fare.

jk is likely our homerfobe character - if not they are definitely lovers
Didn't homerfobe say he was gone for good? I couldn't decide whether he was a lib or a con, or just a troll that delighted in pissing off those who spoke in favor of any subject he was against; namely homosexuality; therefore, I think it would be highly unlikely that homophobe was a homosexual, despite Vrede too and rstrong labeling him as such.

This forum has a bit more p-zazz than most forums, as it is not censored; however the CPF forum is the biggest crock I've ever seen. I don't even read it anymore; it's boring. As this forum has it's screaming liberals, CPF has it's screaming cons; so whiney, it is as you say: a place to get banned if you cross the Admin. Worse I've ever seen.

Anyway, the best way to get other people to join is to post about this forum in other places everyone posts to -- maybe news sites with bad forums, other forums if it's within their rules, etc. If it doesn't lead to new posters directly it will increase search rankings so that it's more likely found when searching for a political type forum.
It appears all you've had luck with is Russians peddling their websites!

"Your voice actually means something" . . . that's a laugh. Only if you're a total dyed-in-the-wool liberal. I've not spoken for or against homosexuality; yet, I'm branded homophobic. I posted comments about people getting their ass in a sling over a flag; I'm branded a racist and misogynistic. Yep, my voice actually means something alright.

On an off note, one of the top searches that brings people here is still "Is Tammy Watford a lesbian?" https://www.facebook.com/TammyWatfordWLOS/ -- people are weird.
Hmm . . . not too shabby! If she's a lesbian, maybe I'll introduce myself; we'll find another woman, and the three of us can shack up. Thanks for the idea there, Something Left!!

Or if you cross anyone else. In the past. On another forum.

I made one (1) post, a simple joke, not in any way disrespectful to anyone there. Nascarfan - or whatever he was posting as there - saw me, went crying to that forum's admin, and had me locked out as a commie Marxist socialist lib'rul.

This because I used to quote Newt Gingrich to back my position and contradict his claims, at a time when *he* had a Newt Gingrich banner as a signature line on all his posts.

You took a mindlessly partisan "to hell with the Constitution", "to hell with the Supreme Court", "to hell with civil rights" position when Huckabee and Kim Davis were fighting for her right to use her government position to dictate HER personal interpretation of HER religion to others.

You keep reposting wingnuttery like this to the forum...

I wouldn't go that far. I would say he isn't as learned as he should or would like to be. One thing I have discovered about atheists; atheists are more learned about religions and Christianity than most Christians. I'm under the impression that that is so in order to debunk Christians and defend their non-beliefs in an argument with Christians; but . . . most Christians who are true to their faith are unwavering in their profound beliefs, regardless of the fact they can't quote scriptures or discuss Biblical history. (the Bible does say that arguing scripture or endless genealogies is a waste of time. 1 Timothy 1:4)

On the other hand there's room for suspicion that "Seth Milner" isn't even the same person every time.
I should change my screen name to Mr. Mystery.

You can disprove a his claims on gun crime with facts, figures and charts from impeccable sources, and the "Seth Milner" that posts a few days later will repeat the same claim, apparently with no knowledge whatsoever of his previous posting history.
Damn. See what happens when I get fishing on my mind!

This week he gets proven wrong on his claim that "gun-free zone" pictures weren't taken at CPAC.
You lie.® Go back and read what I wrote. I said "there's no proof the photos were taken at a CPAC meeting". I later acknowledged the photo was taken at said meeting because another photo showed the same carpeting.

He gets proven wrong on his claim that America's torture practices don't include things like slicing people's testicles with scalpels.
You lie again.® When/where did you prove me wrong? I asked you to prove your statement. You said it came out in various news medias. You provided only one and it does not prove that our CIA was involved in slicing of testicles: "....intelligence from the British agencies was used by the Americans ".

And so he disappears for a day or two, and returns with apparently no memory whatsoever of the conversation.
Damn. See what happens when I get fishing on my mind!

It's as though every time a Huckabee/Palin/Trump drone gets proven wrong a voice expresses displeasure, a trap door opens beneath their feet, and another drone takes their place.

The things Mr.B shared about his career and semi-retired jobs were verified, not though any stalking but though a lefty poster that knew him in real life and though his own invitations. None of them had anything to do with "investigative journalism", which is what way sucky investigator Seth Milner says he did.

Aside: Mr.B was a mostly decent sort of curmudgeonly Christian con for years, then he got extremely homophobic and tuned worse in other ways for some reason.

I believe my billy pilgrim character appeared after kilgore trout was banned by a real trout person, who it appears went to jail.
and Friendofred was a blathering idiot who couldn't conjugate words and never used spaces after periods. He was created to fawn over and follow jknowgood relentlessly. At first he begged me to leave, but before it was over, he would leave when FoF showed up.
