Assuming your 7 mill number is correct, and there's no reason to doubt it - it does not lead directly to the conclusion that an even more severely conservative candidate would have won. The Republican's sole strategy was anti-Obama. They believed that the vast majority of the voters would vote against Obama, and their entire campaign was run simply against all things Obama. The campaign relied very heavily on strong anti-Obama enthusiasm and a high turnout, compared to dissolusioned Dems and low turnout.

When you start out with erroneous assumptions and build a faulty strategy from that and ignore data that suggests you might want to change direction, it's going to be real hard to win no matter how many of your target demographic stays home.

But I like your idea. Anybody who thinks Graham is a RINO is fine with me. If you consider running for national office as a Republican, you can count on my support. Where do I contribute?

Republicans only *campaign* on being anti-choice. Reagan was elected on a strong anti-abortion platform, but once elected turned his back on the anti-abortionists.

While campaigning Bush II said he will "do everything in my power" to restrict abortion, and supported proposals for a constitutional amendment banning abortion. AFTER the election he had years simultaneously controlling the Presidency, House and Senate. The Republicans could have passed any anti-abortion law or amendment they wanted. They chose not to.

The only real difference between the two parties is on funding family planning in third-world countries. The Republicans oppose condom use (resulting in MORE abortions), a token policy that does not affect US voters.

Wait - let me get this straight. Parti supported Ron Paul as the lesser of evils according to his perspective. Dude - are you really trying to make the argument that if Ron Paul (who couldn't even usually finish in the top three in a primary) had been the Republican nominee that he would have won because those 7 mill white people would have flocked to him? Seriously? Didn't that 7 mill have a chance in the primaries to pick a "real" conservative (Santorum, maybe?) and couldn't do it? Didn't everybody from Cain to Perry to Bachmann line up all trying to get on the right side of each other?

I do wonder, however, why Partisan62's thread indicates so many "white" men did not vote.

Just wanted to let you know - today I received my 2012 Social Security Stimulus Package. It contained two tomato seeds, cornbread mix, two discount coupons to KFC, an 'Obama Hope & Change' bumper sticker, a prayer rug, a machine to blow smoke up my a$$ and a 'Blame it on Bush'
poster for the front yard. The directions were in Spanish.
