Arrogance

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Arrogance

You win some, you lose some. I feel bad for my friends who were rooting for Kamala, but then there are people like this lady who deserve to suffer all the post-election pain that is possible.

Winners love to gloat. Sometimes you jump the gun.

Well, obviously she wasn’t a winner. The moral of the story: If you want to gloat, at least wait until you actually win. Otherwise, you look like a fool. And this applies to people of all political persuasions.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Like spiking the ball before you get past the goal line.
Whatever happened to gracious winning as well as gracious losing?

Meh, she was a pious fool, but so is Buck Sexton (whoever he is).
Her disappointment and humiliation is a step toward the salvation of the Republic.
Two to one he considers himself a good Christian.

Her arrogance led to unacceptable rudeness towards the clerk. Low wage booze sellers don't need middle aged women coming in to cackle at them.
This woman is the archetype of the humanities professor/DEI advisor/HR coordinator....
That's just Buck Sexton's foolish, sexist and biased arrogance. All we know about her is that she supports women's freedom. She might be a mechanic, chef or thoracic surgeon.
Her disappointment and humiliation is a step toward the salvation of the Republic....
:wtf: Maybe "the Republic" is benefited when one's team wins, but "disappointment and humiliation" are never a step toward salvation. That's just standard Trumpette cruelty, easily equivalent to her nastiness.
Co-host of @clayandbuck nationwide 12-3pm ET @iheartradio on 500 stations. Ex CIA.
Ah, RW radio and a shortened "intel" career. Figures.

Of course, she was wrong. So the clerk, if he was even a MAGAt, got the last laugh and her tears are diluting the champagne.

So it's fairly common when reporting on something a political figure does to note their party affiliation. Usually it's just in a sentence like, "Smith, a Republican..." And it's usually most interesting when the person is caught doing something s/he has been loudly against. Like an anti-gay repug guy getting caught with the pool boy, or a pro-gay Dem getting caught using gay slurs.

But this article (from GoCubsGo land), really seems to want to emphasize that the commissioner Karen who was DUI was a Democrat. Unless she was a big MADD-type crusader, party affiliation doesn't seem all that relevant unless you're a writer with a grudge.

What do you think? Is it just me or did they go out of their way to associate "Democrat" with Karen's behaviour?

People want to know whose team the miscreant is on. SNL did a funny sketch on it (below).
A Democratic official in Chicago made impolite comments about an officer’s manhood after she was arrested on drunk driving charges, police claim.

Democratic Board of Review Commissioner Samantha Steele was found lying on the side of a road on the north side of the city after smashing into another vehicle, according to a report from the Chicago Police Department, obtained by the Chicago Sun Times....
First paragraphs usually echo the headline, so I'm okay with that. However, the "Democratic" in the 2nd paragraph is wholly redundant.
... Seemingly unprovoked, she repeatedly asked an officer “Is your penis that small?”...
:laughing-rolling: Maybe Dems aren't that bad. ;)

Not so much arrogance as stupidity or plain racism.....my "representative" in Congress, Diana Harshbarger, recently made headlines by referring to 77 year old Black TX congressman Al Green as "boy." So far she has refused to apologize. Before she was first elected, she and her busband ran a compounding pharmacy here in my hometown. The husband was convicted of Medicaid/Medicare fraud for using cheap Chinese drugs and billing the government for name brand drugs that are more expensive. He had to pay nearly a million dollars for his fraud and is now a convicted criminal. I suspect that the entire family (the son is running for state legislature) is either arrogant, stupid, racist, or all three.

And counting on the electorate to be the same.

It is. It used to be that congressmembers didn't survive such hate and stupidity.

Tennessee Republican Diana Harshbarger calls Rep. Al Green ‘boy,’ suggests he had ‘gun’ inside cane
"We cannot allow the normalization of these kinds of slurs," said Rep. Al Green after Harshbarger used the racial slur while discussing him during a recent interview.

Damn right! Republicans count on people voting against their own best interests. It's the sole reason they win elections. The lies they constantly spew, all of them amplified on Fox News and the other fringe outlets Fox has spawned. I keep hoping that this second coming of trump will eventually serve to shock them into reality. But a hell of a lot of them are stubbornly stupid and likely always will be.
