I do not disagree a democrat controlled House would impeach Trump. And it will go nowhere like the previous impeachments. As in the past, the act would only invigorae the base.

A conviction will take flipping 14 RepuQ votes in the Senate, either through the elections or persuasion. Seems like a big hill to climb, but perhaps not impossible.

Back in 2017 and in late 2020 and especially after jan 2021 I held that same thought. But I'm pretty sure at this point, most of the GQP will never stand up to trump. I would not have believed such a thing by just reading about it. But actually watching it happen is a different thing.

They did a fine job of demonstrating this phenomena the other day on the five year mark of their great non insurrection. They trotted out the biggest hits of the lies about it and even created a website to spew more lies about it. you'd think they'd just slink away from it or ignore it. But instead they wear it like a fucking badge or something. It makes me want to stomp something in a determined manner.
