Go outside . . . Look Up . . .

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Go outside . . . Look Up . . .

Unread post by Crock Hunter »

a bit after sunset to see a beautiful pairing of the Moon and Jupiter tonight .... take your binoculars though our Moon's brightness may wash out the view of Jupiter's Galilean Moons.. .. While you're at it.. there's the star Aldebaran.. (Taurus's Red Eye) almost as bright as Jupiter below and to the left of the Moon.. don't miss double star Theta Tauri to the right of Aldebaran ... and the Pleiades (the Seven Sisters) to the upper right of the Moon.. and for those sufficiently telescopically endowed..(size does matter 8-) ) there's the Crab Nebula between the bull's horns.. . .. .

Google the constellation Taurus for a more detailed chart.. ... .... .
Should be a good night for viewing. ..
Enjoy....

I am not sure if there are similar apps for misguided iPhone and Windows users.

Enjoyed the moon/Jupiter conjunction.
Saw a great "shooting star" this morning. Great trail.

Now I can lok forward to seeing a cool comet over the Mediterranean. Well, early sightings. Will be there for the eclipse in October, too. Ah, yes.
