The Music Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

If you are sticking with the 50 yr theme it would be the jefferson airplane version with Grace at the 30 second mark - not the 7 minute mark.

I can recall when i was about 15 (1969) I was really into Jefferson Airplane and was fascinated with Jorma Kaukonen. I thought it was a really kick ass name.

I seem to remember it as "OK", not so much as "great" but they certainly were creative and in some ways ground-breaking. I don't know if they ever got to the point of caring whether Jimmy cracked corn.

"Teach Your Children" featuring Kathy Mattea, Suzy Boggus, and Allison Krauss. CSNY should have done it so well.

I saw Arlo live in the early 1970s. When he played the first few bars of Alice's Restaurant people started applauding. He stopped and said, paraphrased, "That was the problem with Nixon. We clapped before we heard the song." :D

OK, so a 7-year old playing drums and pretending to be in a rock band might be cute. A 7-year old really playing drums for AC effin' DC doing "Dirty Deeds" is incredible. And an unforgettable life experience.

True.

I know that it's rock'n'roll and I don't want to read like a prude, but a 7-year old playing a song about murder for hire? There's also this, a year earlier:

HOT FOR TEACHER (6 year old drummer) LIVE on Stage

No singing, though. He is talented! Do you think anyone showed him the original video, and who knew that Brad Paisley plays Van Halen?

This one is for Whack9, Metallica:

Apparently being a talented pre-adolescent drummer isn't so unusual.
