2020 Elections

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

JJ Cale had a song in which there was a line "if you're ever in Oklahoma, you better move around at night."

Donald Trump’s Campaign Fires Off Cease-And-Desist Letter To CNN Over Poll That Shows Joe Biden With Wide (14%) Lead

What a crybaby idiot! I would not have paid any more attention to the CNN poll than other ones if not for this. Fwiw, RCP Average - Biden +8.1.
I'm a Five Thirty Eight guy myself.

I like that RCP averages and find their site easier to navigate from the homepage, but I also refer to FiveThirtyEight. I don't have an opinion on which is more accurate, which should be my priority but I'm lazy.

Thanks, but I meant which is more accurate between the RCP average and the FiveThirtyEight site. I don't even worry about individual polls except for knowing that Rasmussen is way con (C+ per FiveThirtyEight) and Faux Noise polling appears surprisingly legit (A- per FiveThirtyEight).

I like them both - RCP because I can look at the individual polls and get the average, and 538 for the thoughtful analysis.

Both Candidates Are Widely Disliked (Again). This Time, Biden Could Benefit.

In 2016 I was unfavorable towards both, but it was easy for me to pick Hillary.

In 2020 I'm exactly the kind of voter they're discussing - Unaffiliated, mildly or somewhat unfavorable towards Biden, extremely unfavorable towards PINO. Let's hope that their prediction holds.

Lindsey Graham In New Ad: 'Joe Biden Is As Good A Man As God Ever Created' (article)

AD: Lindsey Graham Loves Joe Biden

Brilliant - Trashes PINO, helps Biden, hurts Graham among Repugs without helping him with Dem leaners, a rare 3-fer!

Lindsey graham looks like he's been under tons of stress since 2016. I wonder if he's being blackmailed? How could someone go from talking so much smack about someone to bending the knee to them in such a short time period?

Could be, but his wormy behavior can also be explained by figuring that not pissing off the Trumpettes was the best way to get reelected. That may have been a mistake, 42-42:

That said, plenty of time for the pandering himself coward to switch to separating himself from PINO.

MY NC11:
I know, y'all don't really care. I just wanted to show you this crappy ad.

Trump Conservative: Madison Cawthorn

 Ooooh, socialists :o .

He's running against Lynda Bennett in the 6/23 primary runoff. I can't vote in it since I voted in the Dem primary.

12-way primary:
Lynda Bennett, businesswoman - 22.7%
Madison Cawthorn, motivational speaker (disabled in MVC, maybe brain injury? ;) ) - 20.4
Tight.

Bennett endorsers:
Donald Trump, 45th President of the United States
Mark Meadows, White House Chief of Staff and former U.S. Representative for North Carolina's 11th congressional district (2013-2020)
Jim Jordan, U.S. Representative for Ohio's 4th congressional district and ranking member of the House Oversight Committee
Andy Biggs, U.S. Representative for Arizona's 5th congressional district (2017-present)[158]
Ted Cruz, United States Senator from Texas (2013-present)[159]
American Conservative Union
Citizens United
Susan B. Anthony List

Guess I'll root for Cawthorn. The winner will face Moe Davis in Nov. Most polls consider it "Safe R" despite being un-gerrymandered.

:---P The list of 11 to vote out at the end includes: Tillis (NC), Collins (ME), McConnell (KY) and Graham (SC). 4 to get a Senate majority, 3 if Biden is POTUS.

Biden opens 13-point advantage as Trump popularity drops to seven-month low: Reuters/Ipsos poll

With that kind of margin the Repugs probably lose the Senate, too.

Trump campaign runs ads with marking once used by Nazis to designate political prisoners

Image
In its online salvo against antifa and “far-left mobs,” President Trump’s reelection campaign is displaying a marking the Nazis once used to designate political prisoners in concentration camps.

A red inverted triangle was first used in the 1930s to identify Communists, and was applied as well to Social Democrats, liberals, Freemasons and other members of opposition parties. The badge forced on Jewish political prisoners, by contrast, featured a red inverted triangle superimposed on a yellow triangle.

The symbol appeared in Facebook ads run by Trump and Vice President Pence, as well as the “Team Trump” account on Facebook. It was featured alongside text warning of “Dangerous MOBS of far-left groups” and asking users to sign a petition about antifa, a loose collection of anti-fascist activists whom the Trump administration has sought to link to recent violence, despite arrest records that show their involvement is trivial.
