Iran has successfully launched at least three satellites since 2009. North Korea has popped at least three nukes since 2006. The two countries have worked together on their missile programs. A group of Iranian missile experts were reported last week to be in North Korea offering technical assistance.North American Aerospace Defense Command officials acknowledged today that U.S. missile warning systems detected and tracked the launch of a North Korean missile at 7:49 p.m. EST. The missile was tracked on a southerly azimuth. Initial indications are that the first stage fell into the Yellow Sea. The second stage was assessed to fall into the Philippine Sea. Initial indications are that the missile deployed an object that appeared to achieve orbit.
Now that North Korea appears to have reached orbit, it wouldn't surprise me if Iran gets some assistance with their nuclear program.
